We appreciate that you have been taking the medications, however, you do not mention the psychiatric condition for which the medications are being taken nor the reasons for why you would ask about taking overdoses of the medications if you are stable with regards to your emotional health with taking the medications? There may be some side effects of the medications that are undesirable and we, therefore, recommend that you take the medications as instructed if they are helping you. We also appre...more

The pulse rate of 95 or 105 is not alarmingly high. In situations of intense fear or anxiety normal persons can also develop such pulse rates and palpitations. What this means is you need to consult your psychiatrist for the fear and anxiety.
Do not worry too much about the pulse rates, its unlikely that this is because of a problem in the heart, more likely its a symptom related to schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia can be a very crippling disease, if treatment is tampered with by amateurs or by lay people. You must strictly follow doctor?s instructions. To me your son is seemingly doing well, and holding on to a job with major responsibility. If you push the expectation on him at this juncture, you may reverse all the benefits, inadvertently. Instead of worrying about changing medication, I recommend that you put him on some counseling along with the medication. This will help him develop cop...more

So the medicines that you think are for schizophrenia are for the psychotic aspects of it. I strongly recommend that you go for counseling too. It is not sufficient to rely on medication alone for your recovery. In counseling, which incidentally will be a long term intervention, you will learn of a lot of ways to cope with life and make adj...more

The exact cause of bipolar disorder isn’t known, but a combination of genetics, environment and altered brain structure and chemistry may play a role.
Manic episodes may include symptoms such as high energy, reduced need for sleep and loss of touch with reality. Depressive episodes may include symptoms such as low energy, low motivation and loss of interest in daily activities. Mood episodes last days to months at a time and may also be associated with suicidal thoughts.

It appears that by nature or due to certain disturnances he may be showing depression and mental agitation. Instead of some tranquilisers, he should be taken to an experienced psychiatrist for consultation urgently. If advised he may need comprehensive management requiring even hospitalisation and treatment under direct supervision.

Dear Lybrate-User,
tolaz la will not be accidentally injected. It was injected with some purpose. May be that you are not aware of your psychiatric illness. May be you are justifying your behaviour to others nagging. Tolaz la will be in your body maximum for 4 weeks only. If you don't get injected again, it will disappear from your body. But you should take regular tablets prescribed by the psychiatrist by yourselves showing it to your mom or dad daily. That is the way to avoid injections in...more
