Some psychiatric may cause amenorrhea (absence of periods). You should start the medicine as she was doing well (assuming) with it. For your concern regarding her menstruation, kindly consult a gynecologist - and if everything seems normal, continue the medications.

Dear Lybrate user
using too many antidepressants are not at all good for health. Seek professional counseling along with medicines for better results. Counseling leads to the root cause of the problem and will help you to come out of it in an effective way.

Dear Lybrate-user,
Your tiredness is not due to medication but could be caused by other factors such as anxiety, depression, lifestyle and eating habits, work-related demands, etc. It might be a good idea that you change your lifestyle - exercise, meditate, practice yoga, eat healthy, rest well and have positive approach to everything in life.

I was on the medication for ocd since last 1 and a half years under proper medical guidance of a trained and experienced psychiatrist the main medicine was fluvoxin cr 100 mg and other kept changing according to my response to the doctor on my several visits. I was improving very well and my course was about to end. But suddenly due to educational purposes, I had to come to the other state for my further studies as a graduate. Before coming here we consulted him for the last time and he reduced the dosage by some amount. But I suddenly stopped taking the medicine after coming here. I even talked to him on the phone when I came here and he said as far as I am not feeling any other issues theres no issue in stopping the medicine. But I think I may be facing some problems now. Now, I want to know what can be done.

Dear Lybrate User, cognitive behavioral therapy (cbt), a type of psychotherapy, is effective for many people with ocd. Take online consultation or visit at my clinic as you need therapy along with medications.
Exposure and response prevention (erp), a type of cbt therapy, involves gradually exposing you to a feared object or obsession, such as dirt, and having you learn healthy ways to cope with your anxiety. Erp takes effort and practice, but you may enjoy a better quality of life once you ...more

Dear user you didn't mention your age, don't be so tensed, relax there is a solution for every problem. If these medicines are not helpful try any other Dr. But you should take medicine only for sometime, with medicine you need counseling as well so that you would be able to taper your medicines after sometime and learn how to manage or control your thoughts on your own. All I need is a complete case history of yours and want to guide you about your thoughts and worries so that without medicines...more
