I am a 25 year old female. I am suffering from severe pain on the left side of my ribs, near the upper abdominical region. The pain worsens while breathing in. The first breath hurts the most. Lying on my left side is painful, and stats hurting my shoulders and back slightly. I experience pain both breathing in and out. In march (earlier this year) I developed a sevre cough which last me for about 4-5 weeks and then disappeared. After that I even had a bout of severe gastritis and bloating. Finally, I went to an area at a high elevation (which was extremely cold as well) and towards the end developed severe back pain which affected my breathing. Now the only pain remaining is in the upper abdominal region under the ribs, on the left side. Please help.

Take strict bed rest, plenty of oral liquid like glucose water, ORS and Lemon juice. Check whether you get fever. If no improvement you should see a Consulting Physician for clinical examination, further investigations, Repeat Platelet count, etc. Diagnosis and furthe management. Hospital admission may be very helpful to give adequate IV Saline and observation etc.

First of all pranam 2 you sir or madam. I am 22 years old my father is in private job and my father is suffering from severe pain from 15 ye he has pain on his neck and backbone. He suffer a lot when the pain stats on neck portion with this his pain start on headache and he suffers a lot. My father consult so many doctors but nothing else. Medicine provided only jab tak medicine he is taking only then after wards same problem occur. In cold time he suffers a lot pain. So please sir help me for giving some medical treatment to my father. I will always thankful to you.

For neck and back pains mainly because profession. First consult physio for reducing pain then they will teach you exercises to strengthen your neck and back. Apply ice for 5 to 10 minutes. Strengthen neck and back muscles only treatment for reducing pain and some postural changes.

I received blow job from a prostitute and I had penis foreskin herpes sore but the sore is healing n scar is formed and immediately after exposure within 2 hr I used ceftriaxone 1g iv n azithromycin 2g orally stat. My question is m I at a risk of contracting hiv or other bacterial std after using the following drugs as post exposure prophylaxis coz after 24 hr of exposure having mild fever n flu n ache symptoms. Exposure ws yesterday around 6-6.30 pm please hlp me.

Yes there are chances of infection as you have taken antibiotics and they are not effective against virus like herpes or HIV.

Hello lybrate-user. Cetriaxone is an antibiotic and have no effects on viruses of HIV and hepatitis or herpes. So you have chances of it. Without proper tests it is not possible to determine whether you have contracted it or not.

Hello Doctor, I am married from last 1 year. My lmp was on 16 aug and in sept I got positive pregnancy test. 1 week I had back pain and abdominal pain in early morning. I do not get any ultrasound till 10th nov. Then on 11 nov I have some bleeding then I go to doctor she gave me k stat injection and some tablet to clot blood. Then on 12 nov I had heavy bleeding and I passed a blood clot and a grey coloured oval shaped 2 cm tissue. Then on scanning doctor said there is only blood clots in uterus nothing else, so they do my abortion. Please tell me what can be the cause of that.

I am an 18 year old female with PCOS currently taking spironolactone, Victoza and cyclic progesterone. I recently had a viral infection that caused severe vomiting so I paused my medications (the ER doctor said to). After getting better, I was planning on starting my medications back up but I now I'm having insufferable diarrhea. I've noticed that I've been getting diarrhea quite often, on or off the medications, and it's usually accompanied by severe abdominal pain on my upper right side. My latest blood test (about 2 months ago) was quite good with the only concerning stats being an increased level of prolactin. I've had this recurring diarrhea for about 5 months and I'm getting sick of it. Please help!

Why didn't I get my periods after taking unwanted 72 pill I had a sexual activity on 1st of november without penetration and he also use protection but for a safe side I took pill on 3rd november after that I spot bleeding (minor) on 14th of november. And my monthly cycle is 27to30 every month but this month my periods didn't stat even though I took pregnancy test 2 times one at 29th and 2nd test at 4th of december and both are negative today is 6th of december and my periods are not started yet please give me a solution im too scare is there is any chance of pregnancy?
