Pregabalin is very unlikely to cause urinary retention. Considering your age, you should rule out prostate hypertrophy and other urinary tract obstruction. Get an ultrasound of the abdomen along with the post void residue. Consult an urologist after the ultrasound.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user, though it is advisable to reduce the dose of pregabalin in renally impaired patient, but 25 mg /day is quite a reduced dose (normal available dose is 75 mg/day). So you can have it safely if prescribed by a physician.

You should keep your blood sugar controlled by means of dietary restrictions, exercise and medications. You may take vitamin b 12, b6, folic acid, pregabalin and nortriptyline with consultation of your doctor. This may prevent the recurrence but medicines and other things have to be continued. Unfortunately no permanent cure is available.

It's not fault in treatment by your doctor. I would suggest the support of ayurveda medicine as support to your current medicine. Both won't counteract with each other. Observing the response of this integrative approach, further directions would be decided.
If you agree, I would mention the first phase of safe,...more

lybrate-user any kind of addiction is mostly associated with one or other comorbid psychiatric illness. Unless that comorbid psychiatric illness is not treated it is difficult to treat addiction. For that you should consult a psychiatrist.
