I am suffering from obesity and hormonal problem both at the same time. My age is 13 years height 5 ft and weight 63 kg. My lower back and thigh pain sometimes. I got my first periods 1.5 years ago. Then after 3 months I got my second period. And whenever my periods comes it continues till the 12th or sometimes till 15th day even after taking medicines like sylate which stops bleeding. This happens on every period and also my period gets delay for 3 to 5 months. I consulted a gynaecologist for this purpose. She suggested me Triquilar (levonorgestrel & Ethinylestradiol tab) it is a pack of 21 tablets which she said to take 1 tablet a day sequence wise. Whenever I take this tablet and complete a dost of 21 days. I continues this medicine for 3 months. Everything gets fine, my periods come on time when I take these but when I don't everything becomes worse as previously. A doctor suggested me to consult an endocrinologist and said that your increase is weight is also related to hormones. I gone through T3 T4 Tsh insulin checked which is 26.9 while the upper limit is 27.

You are too young for taking medicines. TSH is high, which shows you have hypothyroidism that leads to weight increase. Also get PCOD checked. In general please avoid packed foods like bread, sandwich, burger, pizza, biscuits, chocolates, noodles, salty snacks, ice-cream, colas, packed juices etc. Have good quantity of fruits and vegetables daily. This will help in weight reduction.

Before I start, i'd like to say that I would appreciate that my choices made are not shamed. I am simply here to ask for help. I will start by providing basic information about myself and my partner, then I will continue talking about the issue and the actions I have taken to reduce the risk of pregnancy. I'm an 18 year girl, around 60 kgs and 163 cm tall. I take no prior medications. I do no smoke nor do I drink. I do not have a history of medical conditions. My boyfriend is 21, 75 kgs and 186 cm tall. He takes no prior medications. He smokes but does not drink. Me and my boyfriend had sex a few hours back and the condom broke. He ejaculated inside me as a result. As soon as we found out the condom broke I tried cleaning out the semen with tissue and peed. I washed my vagina with water and shoved tissue inside it to clean out any of the remainder seminal fluids. I cleaned myself twice. We live in a country where plan b and the abortion pill aren't available. I do have access to birth control but have not been on it for a while. I took birth control for a week on the 24th of may, and stopped it. A week later after I stopped the pill I got my periods from the 6th to the 9th of june. I've been keeping track of my periods on flo and it predicted that my ovulation cycle lasts from the 10th to the 22nd of june. The app also predicts my day of ovulation to have occurred on the 17th of june. According to what knowledge I have the egg supposedly only lasts for 24 hours. Once again, we had sex on the 23rd of june, which is today. The birth control I have access to is yasmin, 0.03 mg of ethinylestradiol and 3 mg of drospirenone. I have heard that as per the yuzpe method it is recommended to take 0.1 mg-0.12 mg of ethinylestradiol along with 0.5 mg of levonorgestrel. The progestin levonorgestrel is a second generation progestin whereas drospirenone is a fourth generation progestin. I decided to take 4 pills around 3 hours after we had sex. I have heard that I should take another 4 after 72 hours. I would like to know if this would help at all in reducing the chance of pregnancy. It is illegal in my country to have sex outside of marriage so going to the doctor would get us in serious trouble. I plan on waiting a week for my period as I anticipate it in 9 days but hopefully it comes around faster with the pills. If my period doesn't come along i'll take a pregnancy test and find another way to proceed if it turns out positive. I would like to know if there's anything additional I should do in order to reduce my chances of pregnancy. Do I increase the dose of birth control any further? What are the signs and symptoms I should look out for if I am pregnant? Any advice is welcome.

Hi. Yes I understand your problem. You followed everything very well but safety is better than to regret it later. Use ocps along with condom for better contraception as just condoms failure rate is more as you experienced .and wen you use ocps never misss a single dose. U should remember that.
And one more thing please do not follow harsh methods like cleaning with a tissue inside the vagina all that, as that method will not help because there will be millions of sperms in the semen and onl...more

Levonorgestrel has a success rate of around 85-95% if taken within two days of unprotected intercourse.
Even though it nausea/vomitting can be one of the side effects related to levonorgestrel. It might not have anything to do with it working or not.
