Hi doctor, I am 41 y/m/ teetotaller. No diabetes, no hypertension and not on any medication. Medical history: have a sensitive digestive system with recurrent acidity/gastritis/ulcer kind of symptoms due to my sales/it job. Mostly manage thru diet and during flare ups, use ppis/antacids. Endoscopy and abdomen ct done few years back, which came out normal. So doctor suggested it could be ibs. Current issue: for the past couple of weeks, had a mild heaviness and a mild intermittent pain in the pelvic area. Consulted an urologist who suspected chronic prostate/cpps due to my sedentary lifestyle & has suggested rft, usg (kub and scrotum), uroflow, urine and semen culture to rule out. The ultrasounds were normal, urine and semen culture normal cbc – normal & most of the blood work values are also within range, except serum chloride which is 110 meq/l whereas the reference range is 98-107 meq/l. Creatinine is 1.02 mg/dl, serum sodium 148 meq/l, potassium 4.4 meq/l, bicarbonate 27 meq/l, uric acid 5.3 mg/dl and urea 19 mg/dl. 1.Is the elevated serum chloride a cause of concern & does it warrant any additional investigations? 2.Does these chloride levels suggest any kidney disease? 3.Since my pelvic discomfort is very mild & all investigations are almost normal, should I take any medications for this issue or just manage it thru exercise/diet? 4.How to protect and safeguard kidney from any future renal diseases? Sincerely appreciate your advice on the above.

Mild elevation in chloride should not be a cause of concern and further investigations are not warranted. No, your chloride level doesn't suggest renal disease. You should try to manage your pelvic discomfort with lifestyle modification initially, if possible. Maintain a healthy lifestyle including balanced diet and regular exercise for optional functioning of kidney and other organs.

From you tests you r having iron and vit d deficiency. Check your urine for infection. If normal have usg whole abdomen and kub.
U may be having intolerance to whey protein. And a diet heavy in protein needs more energy for digestion so your blood flow increases in gut and you feel lethargic. So it's a normal phenomenon. Consult a good gym instructor and good dietitian for proper use of food choices and exercises. Can consult me online privately for treatment.

Hello-
as per your history, issues like ed, varicocele, and low t can be associated with one common cause, which is over masturbation. Since moderns science still consider masturbation healthy, you will not be getting an ideal treatment. Even varicocele is curable without surgery. Better to switch to ayurveda now or else you might prolong you suffering.

Mr Anthony, Looking at the details given, it appears that the kidney function is good. Even on one kidney a person can live a normal life. As regards her BP if it is in control with cilindipine continue the same. Her sugar levels are high. Fasting 114 mg is marginally high. Whereas after food levels is definitely too high, suggesting a need for taking proper anti diabetic medication. Ayurvedic drugs do not bring the sugar levels to normal. After food level is taken after 2 h of food. If it is ...more

Eno contains a mixture of sodium bicarbonate ( ), citric acid ( ) and sodium carbonate ( ). Initially, citric acid is inert when dry (or anhydrous). Upon the addition of water, the citric acid will start to dissociate and eventually becomes reactive. and is not good for UTI

Baking powder is a mixture of baking soda and acid. ... Because baking powder is a leavener that contains both the sodium bicarbonate and the flavor-saving acid, it is usually paired with non-acid ingredients like whole milk and Dutch-processed cocoa
