Hey doc. I hav pain between the are of penis and testicles. At this area little pain occurs left side. Pus cells in urine 1-2. I used nitrofurantoin for 10 days and after that norflox for 10 days. But problem is persist. Little urine leakage after 3,5 mins of urination. please tell me which antibiotic should be used to treat this. I am suffering from this 3 months.

Pus cells upto 3-4 is a normal finding. If you are thinking of infection, then it is better to get a culture of urine done. Is it the junction area of thigh and scrotum that is aching?

instead of injection tablet nitrofurantoin (martifur) 100 mg twice daily for 7 days is better option ..infact its the first choice drug to treat urine infection....u can avoid inj amikacin altogether

I am 24 years male. About 2 months ago I faced this frequent urination problem mostly at night. The doctor gave me some medications, silodosin and nitrofurantoin. After taking the dosage for 2 days I got the usg done which showed normal size of the prostrate. I want to know could it still be the benign prostrate enlargement since I took the medicine for 2 days prior to usg. Would silodosin have affected the reliability of the usg test. Thanks.

Only silodosin can not change the size of prostate.
It just relax sphincter for good flow of urine.
U need to do uroflowmetry test and bladder diary documentation for 3 days before proper diagnosis.
Bph is very less likely at 24.

Good afternoon, ever since 2020 late march, I have been having frequent urination. I have treated it with nitrofurantoin and tarivid but it did not stop. I have been to the general hospital here and test and scan have been remedy on me. They asked me to use ciprotab ,i reacted greatly to it .i was asked to stop and get tavanic. But I am scared to. It is over 9 months now that I have been dealing with this issue .as of october I started having serious lower back pain. Please what can I do .i have used numerous drugs now I am scared. Please help me .thank you.

Hi, I got a health problem, burning sensation and soreness in vagina, had painful intercourse also 2 to 3 times. Did a urine test and doctor said, it was a UTI and got treated for the same (with Niftas, Citralka and Urikind). After the course, again the problem restarted. Visited another doctor and did a urine culture, found no growth but it is vaginal vulvitis and treated by Nitrofurantoin and long but after completion, again the problem restarted. Please guide me which is the proper treatment.

Hello, I self treated myself by taking norflox tz 500 mg twice a day for 3 days in 1st week of pregnancy. I felt better but symptom came back so I took nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice a day for 12 days till 3rd week of pregnancy. I did my test after missing my period and noticed I am 3 week pregnant. Will the antibiotics harm my baby. I am cursing myself for self medication. Pl suggest what to do?

Norflox is not advisable to pregnant women.
You have to be regular with anomaly scans and gynaecologist visits.
