The tablet your father taking is highly addictive. You need to consult a psychiatrist and give him proper medications for his sleep and emotional problems. Safe medications will be beneficial and non addictive and they are not harmful on a longer run. Good luck.

You are happily substituting one substance with another. In other words, you probably have an addictive personality for various reasons and may need top enter a rehabilitation program to completely deal with the issue of addiction. All these substances are known to cause damage to your system and are therefore ill-advised.

Please first visit a psychologist and get psychological testing done to confirm if you have ocd or ocd like symptoms. If it is ocd, you will be cured by medicines but in case reports reveal you have ocd like symptoms, then psychotherapy is the cure, medicines will not help much. Psychotherapy is treatment given by talking and a psychologist is the specialist who treats psychological problems without medicines.

You will need to understand why you have trouble sleeping at such a young age. You may have some stressors in which case you will need appropriate stress mitigation techniques rather than more sleeping pills. You can start with daily yoga, not watching TV or any screen for 1 hour before sleep, deep breathing before sleeping and as soon as you wake up, listening to soothing music at night etc.
