Good evening sir,
whole legumes, pulses and fruits are good source of potassium. But it not like that we need to restrict potassium intake for all kidney patients. Low potassium diets are recommended for kidney patients whose serum potassium levels are higher than normal. I would suggest you consult a clinical dietitian to plan a diet chart for the concerned patient.

You can have fruits with low glycemic load in small quantities. You can have coconut water. A way to keep sugars in control is also to take more vegetables especially before taking carbohydrates.

Mr. Lybrate-user, it is possible that if potassium citrate is taken it may affect fluoroquinolnes action. But most often in urinary tract infections both these drugs are given together. There is no harm.

Hello lybrate-user.
It is better to consult with proper details and test report suggesting low potassium.
Then will be able to suggest right solution.
As potassium is a dangerous element and slight difference in levels can cause severe complications and even death.
Don't wait or try to do self treatment.
