Hello, Thanks for the query.
Increased frequency of urination can occur due different causes like urinary tract infections, diabetes and/or prostate enlargement. Since you are only 44 years old, prostate enlargement is unlikely cause. Since there is the history of UTI, you may have to continue the antibiotic treatment for a few more days. Plus drink enough water and other fluids. Also get your blood glucose (fasting & PP) done, to see if there is any increase in the glucose levels. Thanks.

Chronic prostatitis - seeking advise tldr: i'm diagnosed with chronic prostatitis. It seems to be chronic bacterial prostatitis. Seeking advise on sexual health, managing symptoms, recovery etc. If you don't wish to read my long post please go to "my concerns" section at the the bottom of this post to read my query. Thanks you. I'm a 30 year old single male. Last december, I was diagnosed with uti having severe e.coli infection in my bladder. It all started with a chill & fever for a couple of days. Then suddenly one day I had excruciating pain in my groin area, along with severe pain while urination. I was under 2 weeks of antibodies (niftas). Post treatment the pain had entirely gone however I was left with some discomfort while urination. After a month, discomfort/pain started to get a little intense. I consulted the urologist again, urin culture came normal. Doctor suggested cystoscopy or mri scan to rule out prostatitis. Did mri, result said chronic prostatitis. Impression section on the report said "diffusely t2wi hypointense peripheral zone with no diffusion restriction and homogeneous contract enhancement - pirads 2 - could represent chronic prostatitis. No focal lesions or collections" I was under a month of antibiotics treatment (namely of 200, doxyildr, metrogyl 180, trydic plus, veltam .4). Things felt better. My symptoms got mild. However last month, I had unprotected oral sex and sex with condom. 2 days later I felt major discomfort in my groin area (burning sensation). Urin culture showed bacteria presence (culture yielded significant growth of e.coli >1,00,000 cfu/ml). Again I had to undergo antibiotics medication (niftas) along with cranpac-d. Presently my symptoms are mild. I don't get any pain while urination or otherwise. When I need to urinate, I feel a kind of sensation which I don't know how to describe. While urinating I feel as if something is stuck inside my penis. I feel similar sensations during ejaculation. My concerns - my parents are not aware about my above health issues (chronic prostatitis) and they have started looking for my marriage. There are few things bothering me and I seek for advise in this forum. 1) it's been 8 months since I got the very 1st instance of uti, I got it again last month. I am afraid whether it is going to be a case of recurring uti. The second time clearly seems to be the result of the sexual encounter I had. Does prostatitis cause recurring uti? 2) will I have a healthy sex life with my would-be partner? Will I be giving infection to my partner? What will be my partner's risks in terms of her health? My doctor told me to always use condom while having sex. But in a marriage, one can't always be using protection while sex. 3) will I have healthy kids? Will there be any child birth complications? 4) how long will it take for prostatitis to get cured? Any suggestions on lifestyle changes etc? Thank you again.

1. Martifur Mr. 100 (nitrofurantoin) is a good antibiotic and no need to use levofloxacin. 2. Drink plenty of fluids and re evaluates blood sugars and glycemic control. 3. If he is on sglt2 inhibitor drugs (canagliflozin, dapagliflozin, and empagliflozin) for diabetes, it can cause recurrent uti. 4. If he has recurrent uti, get urine culture and sensitivity for definitive treatment.

I am 20 year old female with experience of sexual abuse 8 months ago. Although he did not penetrate into vagina but just touched penis and fingered with one finger roughly. Then I developed lower abdomen cramps lasting for few seconds or minutes and are still there. I developed uti after 6 months. It got cured with nitrofurantoin. Then I developed white thick discharge vaginal/urethral and with perineal region burning pain anytime and mostly after urination and not during urination .dr. Gave doxycycline for 14 days twice a day but no effects. So I had chlamydia and gonorrhea urine test pcr after 6 months. Results were negative. Had all sti tests with negative results. Still it can be a std? If it is then I am virgin and can they take swab from cervix for testing? Should I test again or not? I tested in mid january.
