Hello doctor I am AYSWARYA first I would like to inform I have one kidney my urine culture report is gram stain: few gram negative bacilli seen. Colony count: 0.30 lakh/ml. Comment: probably significant growth. First level antibiotics is highly sensitive to Tobramycin, gentamycin, nitrofurantoin, ofloxacin trimethoprim, sulphafurazole, norfloxacin, lomefloxacin. And other antibiotics are highly sensitive.

Avoid spicy food items and not to eat junk food and we also need to avoid peanuts and potatoes in our daily diet and stop mastubation and never apply soap to the glans penis but can clean it with water only

I am 36 years old married woman. I am having uti problem from yesterday. After making relation. Yesterday I had taken norfloxacin. And today I had taken empty stomach only omeprazole due to feeling gas in my stomach. But I am not feeling completely well. From morning till afternoon I gone three four times for stool and many times fir urine. Feeling little bloated and not feeling well. I have nitrofurantoin tablet and fluconazole af-150. Shall I have to take this?

Good evening Dr. I require your kind advice regarding my mom's medication. You see my mom had persistent uti & e-coli infection for almost a year throughout 2018-2019. Her health deteriorated due to which she had a fall last year & got fractures in her spine & right shoulder, for which she was operated with screws & rod insertions i.e. Dorsal spine fixation & proximal humerus plating. However she had incidents of granulation tissue pouring out on the spine suture area twice after the initial surgery, due to which she had been operated two more times to sort out the problem. The reason for the granulation tissue pouring out was described as the Dr. As being due to high uti & e-coli infection. She took iv antibiotics for 7 weeks and was also prescribed nitrofurantoin 100 mg for 1 year which would completely eliminate her uti & e-coli. My mom however had for only 5 months & quit. It's been 4 months now since she quit, & now suddenly she's experiencing frequent urination, overactive bladder and urine incontinence since 3 days. Also there is inflammation during urination. Kindly suggest me if there is no harm if she starts nitrofurantoin 100 again and so for how long i.e. Remaining 7 months or any other period?

For last 3 days I have been noticing blood & blood cots in the urine and frequent urination. I don't smoke & drink beer or wine, 3 or 4 times a year. As per the advice of a Urologist I have got done the following tests: 1) Cbc: Haemoglobin 12.4, Mcv 82, mch 25, Wcbc count 13800. 2) Routine Urine: Blood present, Protein present (30-100 mg), innumerable Pus & RBC cells 3) S. Creatinine: eGFR 79.6, Estmted Cr. Clearance 195 4) Urine culture report: A pure moderate growth of'Escherichia Coli' ESBL: Positive, Colony count: 80,000 C.F.U 5) Urinary tract sonography: conclusion: "There is 75 x 62 mm SIMPLE CORTICAL CYST SEEN IN LEFT KIDNEY. 6) Fasting Glucose: 103, Post Lunch: 113 7) Lipid profile: Sr. Cholesterol 167, Sr. Hdl cholesterol 34, Chol/HD chol ratio 4.9. After diagnosis the urologist said that I have a severe infection and has prescribed to take: Pause-500, Urispas, Niftran 100 mg.

I consulted my doctor and went for urine culture test then he prescribed me following medicines- 1) Azithrysin 500 mg OD for 15 days 2) nitrofurantoin 100 mg TDS 17 days Now again from the last 10 days I am suffering from the same. I drink coconut water daily. I am taking ciprofloxacin 500 mg BD this time. I am tired of this reoccurring fever. What should I do to get rid of all this? I take Cardace H 5 mg BD for high BP Please guide me.

At 20, you have taken a lot too many antibiotics for uti. 65 days is a long time to suffer from uti. I hope a culture test & ultrasound has been done to rule out kidney stones. If not get it done now. May be culture test shows no bacterial infection and you are taking heavy antibiotics for no reason.
Take cystone (himalaya) 2 tabs every day & drink lots of water.
Get back here with reports of tests advised.

I am suffering from recurrent urinary tract infection. I was admitted in the hospital 3 months back as the e. Coli infection reached my kidneys. I was given ertapenem for 1 week and after that no growth came in reports. Again after 2 weeks infection was above 1 lakh. Started to take nitrofurantoin tablets (martifur Mr. 100) and urimax 0.4 capsules. After one months of taking the medicine the infection was less than 1 thousand. But after 15 days nitrofurantion became resistant and growth became 50 thousand. Please note that I have done kubp sonography test and it is very normal. But I am type 2 diabetic. My diabetes is under control from past three months. Please suggest what to do to cure it completely?

Dear , I must know your age, urine report sonography with full bladder volume, bladder-wall thickness and post void residual urine. As you have recurrent/persistent infection one has to find the cause. It may be that the dose was not right or duration was inadequate or drug was not taken as it should be taken or usg was wrongly interpreted or was not done in much detail as shown earlier. So please post the reports with films so that I can guide you properly.
