I am so glad that your intention is to quit both of these habits. Both of them are orally ingested habits of smoking and gutkha and so quitting can be a little difficult but can be done at one time. There are no guarantees about stopping one’s addiction. But that does not mean we should not keep at it, over and over again until we succeed. Now it is difficult to give up all by yourself because you have become addicted to smoking and gutkha and there is so much to do. Under such circumstances it ...more

Dear Govind,
Congratulations for planning to clear your lungs. The only way is quitting smoking. Since you are smoking only 1 year, comparatively it is easier to quit now than later. Nicotine stays in your lungs only for few hours. That is why you feel the need to smoke again. You also get withdrawal symptoms if you quit. But the tar which is deposited in the lungs can not be removed at all. Plan not to add more of tar by quitting smoking.
If withdrawal is a problem, please take the help...more

Dear lybrate-user,
Please quit smoking and continue with your high motivational level NOT to restart. Within 3 -6 months, your lungs will be clear. You can do breathing exercises at home. You should not be with friends who smoke. Passive smoking also affects lungs. Try hard and persistently. All the best.

Hello pls stop smoking from now. ITs good if you vomitted all of the nicotine after smoking as your body defence mechanism managed to throw it out. NO such syrup is needed for this now. Wait for few days it will go off on its own. Drink plenty of water to detoxify your body. If no good results seen consult us for a good homoeopathic treatment.

Smoking is a habit that can easily become an addiction. There are two aspects to this; the physical addiction of holding a cigarette in your hands and the addiction to nicotine. Most people believe that by substituting cigarettes for other forms of nicotine, such as chewing tobacco or snuff, one may wean oneself off cigarettes. However, this is not always the case. Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances. It is a colourless, natural liquid that turns brown when burnt. When exposed to ai...more
