Sompraz d is an antacid, should be taken in morning, fasting and you should eat breakfast within 30 min to 1 hour of taking tablet. Along with medications, lifestyle modification is important. Avoid foods increasing reflux like sweets, chocolates, carbonated drinks, tea, coffee, oily food and heavy meals. After eating food 2 to 3 hours gap should be there for lying down. No bedtime snacks. Itopride is comparatively safe, but both are not safe for long term use. Medications should be used for prescribed duration only. If symptoms recurrs after stopping medication you need evaluation once. Along with medications, lifestyle modification is important. Avoiding foods which increase reflux like sweets, chocolates, soft drinks, oily foods, tea, coffee, heavy meals. 2-3 hrs gap after eating food before lying down. Head end elevation while sleeping.
