Yes nexito plus can be taken for long term. But if you are asymptomatic on medicine since long a trial to reduce medicine can be given but again your primary care giving doctor will be best judge as he/she knows your illness well.

Medicines for anxiety is ok for a shorter duration only, you are only 24 right now. Better to consult some counsellor for help and getting relieved from stress and anxiety. Start doing mediations it will surely help you to calm down. If you want you can connect me also.

Nexito is the brand name for escitalopram. It is one of the recommended drugs for depression. It is safe and does not have any side effects. However it takes time to build in the body to a level to give benefits (at least 15 days) and 10 mg is only a starting dose. So by stopping in one month you may not have received the full benefit of the treatment. Ideally treatment should be taken for atleast 6 months. Otherwise there is a high chance of your depression returning.

Dear Lybrate user
nexito forte is given for anxiety disorders. You have not mentioned whethet this medicine has been prescribed by a psychiatrist or you are taking on your own. So now, as you had written that you have been taking it for last 3 yrs, you can't stop it just like that suddenly. You will have withdrawal symptoms. You need to consult the doctor, don't stop on your own. You need to reduce the dose slowly and then it can be stopped gradually but that also with the help of the doctor...more

Nexito is the brand name of the ssri escitalopram.
It is a very safe medicine and the side effects listed on the web are sometimes just over inclusive of anything that was observed in clinical trials
just keep consulting a psychiatrist who can monitor the side effects
the most common side effects are either insomnia or sedation and first dose anxiety. It can lead to yawning as well
it normally takes 2-4 weeks for the therapeutic effects to show after starting the tablet.

Dear lybrate-user,
nothing worse will happen. Your original complaints may return, if you are not fully treated or you have not found alternate methods of treatment like therapy. It is better to withdraw one of the drug in nexito forte (clonazepam) first and then escitalopram (available as plain nexito - not forte)

Nexito is good for anxiety disorders, zepam should be used for short term and should be tapered down. Nexito can be taken for longer duration and even the dose may be needed to increase. And for few months even after remission of symptoms, nexito might be continued. Along with it counselling may help. Try doing stretching exercises and deep breathing exercises. Include probiotics like dahi, chhach and also some fruits in your diet.

It s effect starts from 1 - 4 weeks, varies from individual to individual. There is no medication called faster acting. Ect acts fast for severe depression. Good luck.
