Then the medicine is not working, you need to consult your psychiatrist and change the medication/ reconsider the diagnosis. Also try to combine with cognitive behavioral therapy. All the best.

It is mainly because of sudden withdrawal of paroxetine. And not due to nexito. So, I would suggest you to stop paroxetine over 15 days by taking 1/2 tablet of 12.5 for 15 days meanwhile continuing nexito 5 mg during that phase. Then you consult your psychiatrist for either continuing same dose or increase in dose.

Hello lybrate-user, nexitoplus contains 5 mg of escitalopram and 0.5 mg of clonazepam. When you use any tablet containing clonazepam for more than two weeks you may get withdrawal symptoms and these withdrawal symptoms almost mimic like anxiety symptoms. Hence I advise you to separately take nexito 5 mg and clonazepam 0.25 mg which is a half of the dose which you had taken earlier. And you can stop clonazepam 0.25 mg after two weeks.

Usual dose of nexito is 10-20 mg. Most of the time a patient doesn't require more than this dose but if in your case you getting better effects by 25 mg and able to tolerate medicine very well, you can continue with 25 mg. Don't worry.

Yes nexito plus can be taken for long term. But if you are asymptomatic on medicine since long a trial to reduce medicine can be given but again your primary care giving doctor will be best judge as he/she knows your illness well.

What stalopam was prescribed for (diagnosis) should be in your prescription. Most probably reason for headache should be stress, but the medication is also a rare possibility (does not occur in most of the persons taking it, and commonly may relieve headache also). Consult your psychiatrist and inform him the issue - a change in medication is probably needed.

Nexito is the brand name for escitalopram. It is one of the recommended drugs for depression. It is safe and does not have any side effects. However it takes time to build in the body to a level to give benefits (at least 15 days) and 10 mg is only a starting dose. So by stopping in one month you may not have received the full benefit of the treatment. Ideally treatment should be taken for atleast 6 months. Otherwise there is a high chance of your depression returning.
