My brother he is having psychotic disorders (schizophrenia) from past 5 years, with consultation to a doctor we are giving him sizodon 3 and sizopin 50 (power varies) from past 3 years, but he is showing signs of no recovery, sometimes he is good in behavior and sometimes he is very bad, speaking unnecessary things, at times due to this my father unknowingly had to break the dosage, we are planning to see him more good places like Bangalore and vellore.

schizophrenia is a chronic lifelong disorder. The drugs need to be given for a long term. Since your brother is young, he needs rehabilitation from now itself along with drugs. I am suffering from schizophrenia since 10 years. I have taken many medications with marginal relief and presently am on sizodon forte 0-0-1 and sizopin 50 mg 0-0-1 since a month. Recently, I had a bout of positive symptoms (hallucinations and delusions) and negative symptoms (social and emotional withdrawal) and by taking this combination, I feel a lot better. This query is just for clarification only and not for consultancy. Let me say, as a second opinion. Kindly air your opinion regarding this combination. Thanks.

I am on the following drugs for depression/anxiety and schizophrenia. A) zosert 100 mg 1-0-0. B) trazalon 50 mg 0-0-1. C) cizorest 200 mg 0-0-1. D) sizopin 50 mg 0-0-1. E) pacitane 2 mg 1-0-0. F) clonotril 0.25 mg 1-1-1. Due to severe anxiety and the habit forming nature of clonotril, I am on serenace 0.50 mg 1-1-1 (not self medicated). My questions are a) will it reduce anxiety? B) is it contra-indicated to the above mentioned drugs? Please clarify.

We understand your situation however is not advisable to take medications on your own by self-medication. We are glad if you are not self-medicating, however would like to let you know that clonotril and serenace are not the same group of medications. To answer your questions a. I am on the following drugs for depression/anxiety and schizophrenia:- 1) nexito 20 mg 1-0-0 2) trazalon 50 mg 0-0-1 3) cizorest 200 mg 1/2-0-1/2 4) sizopin 50 mg 0-0-1 5) pacitane 2 mg 1-1-0 of late, I am having bed wetting, in spite of relieving myself at bed time. Is this problem due to the drugs I am taking or do I have an enlarged prostate or is it due to something else? Please confirm.

Dear Lybrate doctor, I need not have to tell you about my mental condition and the drugs taken to counter them, since I have elaborated them in my previous texts. You have been very patient in answering queries, not bothering about the times I ask them. I have a lot of trust in you and my queries are purely a second opinion detail, before being thrown into the fray right away. Depression and anxiety are taken care of by nexito forte & clonotril .25 mg and hence there are no issues here. The main problem is to find a suitable combination to counter my schizophrenia. As mentioned to you in my previous queries, I have tried so many combinations, some with relief and some found wanting. Due to financial constraints, I am unable to afford for costly drugs. The latest combination goes this way:- 1)trinicalm plus 1-0-1. 2)sizopin 75 mg 0-0-1. This combination is cheap and hence affordable. My query is:- can this combination be taken together or either they are contraindicated or there will be any drug interactions. Also, highlight me about trifluoperazine (trinicalm plus), it’s uses, side effects and drug interactions. At present, for depression/anxiety, I am on nexito forte along with clonotril 0.25 mg and sizopin and cizorest for schizophrenia. There is relief please answer my queries. Thanks.

It is not clear as to what medications you are currently taking. Is it cizorest or trinicalm? In both cases there are no drug interactions and if you have any it would be an isolated or rare event. I am 34 yrs old male severely suffering from sleepless nights since last 1 yr. I have consulted phycratic doctor. My doctor recently prescribed dichorate er 750+500 solian 300 sizopin 50 but rhe side effects of sizopin 50 is that the whole next day I have to sleep and when I wake up I have my head hanged on I want sound sleep and fresh every morning please advice with medicine I also have tremendous itiching problem through the body but sometimes in the whole day I commit that I have taken 90 pill of ayurvedic medicine for weight gain and muscle gain when I was 19 yrs old and after that I had tremendous problem with fat contents of food. I mean to say whnever I ate fatty food ihad problems like head hanged on, constipation etc I continued for 5 yrs medicines I have taken: qutan, qutipin, lithosun, diva od, ativan mg (but no effects on sleep)

Insomnia is not an illness by itself-usually is a symptom of some underlying disorder/ problem which needs to be managed.
Symptomatic treatment with sleeping pills is not a solution. Please meet an experienced psychiatist

My sister has been suffering from treatment resistant schizophrenia. Recently she started taking ivf treatment, thus stopped taking a medication (clozapine). But recently she started acting very aggressive and can’t recognise me and my mom, and always act weird and aggressive towards us. We have consulted a psychiatrist who prescribed her with sizodon 4 mg. She is reluctant to take the medications and behave aggressively towards us, if we try to give her the medicine. Sometimes she shouts and says delusional things. Please suggest what should we do, as we are also scared that the prescribed medication can harm her ivf treatment. Thank you.

Hello,
It seems that the diagnosis of schizophrenia has been confirmed and she has placed on medication. there is an urgent need for her to continue the medication and schizophrenia needs to be controlled. IVF can be carried out at the same time. But remember that medication for schizophrenia is must for her. there is no definite proof as yet that resperidone can harm the fetus and it shouyld be used as the benefit to the mother outweighs the risk to fetus

What is the difference between unproductively in ocd and unproductive in negative schizophrenia .i have ocd but when it comes to productivity issue I am confused btwn two .i do not bath ,do not brush and my mother is a schizophrenic but I do not have delusion n hallucination. Is it possible that an ocd patient do not bath and do not brush for months? I over come with ocd but my productivity is zero n my mother is also schizophrenic so I want to ask it .my ocd symptoms are ok 70% with clomipramine but productivity is still a big issue. I have tried all scars and stimulants and rpn and oleanz and qutipin but no significant differences in productivity or self care .is it the time to think about clozapine? My psychiatrist is helpless.

Can we take tab typlin-c with valium 2 mg tav both at one time to psychiatry patients. Symptoms --patients talking too much, about his past things. Repent his past. Too much, sleep well, age 48 years female, taken divorce from her husband. Anxiety, I must should be adjusted with my husband. Now repent. Staying her mother home, her mother economic conditions are good. Anxiety. Feeling insecure, if any tell me anything wrong, so not come out from his home. Regular taking of tab clozapine 50 & valium 2 mg, at night od dose, she sleep well but talking too much, same things she repeated, her home member getting board. Or in trouble. So please advise.
