I am a schizophrenic taking Ziprasidone 40 mg once a day and Espazine 5 mg thrice day, I am a smoker a tea tottler I been taking these medication for almost 5 years now can they ever be reduced

If you are symptom free it is because of effect of medicines, chances of relapse are higher after drug discontinuation.

My Psychiatrist has put me on Amisant 200 mg 1-0-1 and Qutipin 100 mg 0-0-1 for my Schizophrenia. There is a lot of relief. I have a clarification here, let us say, a second opinion and just as an information. Presently, I am on espazine 1 mg 1-1-0 for anxiety. There is relief. With Amisant, Qutipin and now espazine, there will be 3 anti-psychotics. Is it ok or 3 anti-psychotics should not be taken? Please confirm.

Dear Sir If you are feeling fine with the medications and do not hand any side effect, it is OK to take them. A lot of people with schizophrenia respond to more than one antipsychoyics and are on multiple medication. Please do not stop or alter the medication without consulting your psychiatrist.

My mom is suffering from depression and anxiety since 4 months and we consulted a psychiatrist who gave relicalm plus 5 mg, olimelt 10 mg for 2 months. thereafter she gave n citi 500 mg, relicalm plus 5 mg, vitalax and skizoril 25 mg for 2 months. But the issue is my mom is not getting sleep and she is getting frequent body pain because of this medicines. So we changed the doctor and now she is being given stalopam 5 mg, sizopin 25 mg, etilaam md 0.25 mg. Now she is getting sleep but she is constantly feeling drowsy and very weak. She is having too much anxiety and restlessness and now my mom has become very weak and suffering very much as she is not able to bear the medicines also. Can anyone knowledgeable help me out as to what kind of medicine is good for my mom. Since it seems like medicines do not go to the root of the issue and just induce sleep so that mom doesn't get anxiety. Pls help me whether ayurvedic medicines are good or physiotherapy so that my mom will not suffer due to medications.

I am 59 years old, Schizophrenic since 1987. I was put on various drugs since then and got relief. Of late, I am having hallucinations and delusions and hence am prescribed Trinicalm Plus 1-0-1 and Sizopin 50 mg 0-0-1. There is relief. But Trifluoperazine is causing me mild itching. My Psychiatrist has told me that this drug is also an anti-histamine and hence itching might be due to something else, but to take cetrizine, if only itching persists. I am taking cetrizine 10 mg 1-0-0, since a week and there is no itching. My question is whether to continue cetrizine as long as I am on Trifluoperazine or just stop after taking for a week? Also confirm whether cetrizine has got any side effects or is it habit forming? KIndly be specific in answers.

Greeting. My father had undergone hydatid liver surgery in 2015. Post surgery he recovered well. One year after surgery he developed anxiety, stress, restlessness so doctor advised peace tablet (chlordiazepoxide and trifluoperazine. Now he wants to stop this medication. Is it safe to stop peace tablet medication suddenly? Or there will be withdrawal symptoms? Please reply.

He needs to be evaluated by a qualified psychiatrist before changing the dose or stopping the medication. Stopping the medication suddenly can cause withdrawal symptoms and aggravate anxiety possibly.

Dear sir, I always get useless thoughts comes in my minds and I cannot control over it and it gives heavy stress on my brain/skull muscles and due to that sometimes I get headache, paining all around shoulder muscles, generate gases, neck muscles paining, paining and flickering of left eyes muscles, paining behind the left ear muscles and paining that vain which goes from left shoulder to left eye via left brain. Also, once I am continuously working more than one hour by giving full attention in my work then my neck muscles giving full pain. But recently as per doctors advice once I have stop to take MODAFIL MD 100 TAB and ESPAZINE 1MG TAB medicine again my problem start and I get the same thing as I described in above. Please help me in this regard as I am being crippled now a day. Your positive reply is very useful for me and save my life. I am really defeated from my life.

Mere dimag me kalpnik ghatna chalte rehta hai. Aisa ghatna chalte rehta hai jisko maine dekha nahi hai. Kalpnik ghatna ko dekhkar mai hasta hu. Maine psychiatrist ki help se medicine trifluoperazine aur amisulpride liya. But koi sudhar nahi hua. Mai 4 saal se is problem ko ghel rha hu. Please mughe upchar ke bare me batayein.
