Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
For a diabetic person it is essential to achieve a strict blood glucose control. That means fasting blood glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <7. That too considering your age HbA1c% should be <7.
As regards TSH, in a well controlled hypothyroidism patient TSH should be around 3 to 4 mU/L, then only one will be free from all the symptoms of thatcondition. If TSH is 34 mU/L, means current dosage is not adequate. It has to be increased....more

Do not worry, let her body slowly accommodate and improve on its own. Let her concentrate on eating a healthy and balanced diet. Avoid all types of junk food/processed and packaged food and beverages. Have more of natural ( unpolished food ) and also seasonal fruits and vegetables. Being active ( do some exercise or do some yoga every day ) will help in rejuvenation of the mind and body. Please revert after 1-2 months for further evaluation.

Hello, thanks for the query.
Tsh 0.1 mu/l is not yet in the hyperthyroidism range. It is lower than normal. You have not mentioned t4 level, which is more relevant than t3. If you have tachycardia (fast pulse, >100/minute) and palpitation, then only proplanolol 20 mg or 40 mg may be helpful. But no other drug is needed. Thanks.

hyperthyroidism is a condition which can only be controlled by taking drugs as you are doing, or thyroidectomy (removal of thyroid) may have to be undertaken. Or by using radio active iodine the gland's activity is curtailed. Once that is done you will have to take thyroxine tablets to replace the hormone. There are no medications to curtail the glandular activity than methods mentioned above.
