Hello. For treatment of acidity you require not only medicines but also strict lifestyle and dietary changes.
Avoid spicy oily and outside food
avoid heavy meals in dinner
avoid excess tea/coffee

You need to do lifestyle modification
no stress food on time avoid spice and once atleast upper gi scopy should be done should rule out h pylori infection. Lifestyle change is the key.

Kindly look for the intensity of symptoms. Whether you were tested for h.pylori. Look if you are positive for hiatus hernia or lax esophageal sphincter. You may require esophageal manometry to look for the severity of reflux.

Why not take a look at your food and eating habits. Have more of fruits and vegetables (organic foods) and avoid junk food. Do not eat in-between meals. Have enough water (8-10 glasses of water) through out the day. Also avoid cold drinks which gave lots of sugar and other preservatives which may not be good for health. Ideally all acid lower drugs not recommended for a long period.
The duration of these drugs depends upon cause of symptoms. Please send me your reports to decide. But definite long term use has tendency to cause b12 defeciency.
