Nasivion are just unbearable for small kids. They generally react instantly. But if your child is not reacting to it, just don't worry and switch nasal spray. Also most important is do not use nasal spray if baby is not very serious cold. Use hot water nass, pure and no side effect, also very effective.

Keep your child as calm and comfortable as possible and offer plenty of fluids.
Give acetaminophen or ibuprofen for fever. Ibuprophen should only be given if your child is drinking reasonably well. Clear nasal congestion with a bulb syringe and saline (saltwater) nose drops.
