About Mox 500 MG Capsule

As a penicillin antibiotic, Mox 500 MG Capsule treats bacterial infections. It interferes with the synthesis of the cell walls in bacteria and stops it from growing. This is used to treat infections of the lungs and airways, skin, middle ear, sinuses, and the urinary tract.

It also treats conditions like tonsillitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, and gonorrhoea. This medication when used with an antibiotic clarithromycin, it treats stomach ulcers. You should not use it if you are allergic to any penicillin based antibiotic.

This medication can make birth control pills less effective, so ask your doctor about using non-hormonal birth control to prevent pregnancy during the treatment. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding.

Take Mox 500 MG Capsule exactly as prescribed by your doctor. They are available in liquid form, as chewable tablets, and as extended-release tablets. Some forms of this medicine may be taken with or without food. Dosage is as per doctor’s prescription and it varies according to age, medical condition, and how severe the condition is.

Symptoms of penicillin overdose include neuromuscular hypersensitivity (agitation, hallucinations, asterixis, encephalopathy, confusion, and seizures) and electrolyte imbalance with potassium or sodium salts, especially in renal failure.

Hemodialysis may be helpful to aid in the removal of the drug from the blood, otherwise most treatment is supportive or symptom directed.

Take entire prescription, even if you are feeling better. Take at equal intervals around-the-clock; may be taken with milk, juice, or food. You may experience nausea or vomiting (small frequent meals, frequent mouth care, sucking lozenges, or chewing gum may help).

        • Increased toxicity: Allopurinol theoretically has an additive potential for amoxicillin rash.
