Asked for female, 43 years old from Chandigarh

Dr. My son is 5 year old. He has cough since Nov 2015. I had given antibiotics like amoxyclav and azithromycin and asthalin coriminic and cetrizine syp but no effect. All his blood test chest xray and afb test are normal. In chest xray he had mild cardiomegaly. Drs. Done echo whis is normal.In blood test his eosinophil are 11. Drs says he has allergy in blood and prescribe Montair 10 mg one tab in night for three months. Dr. My question is can I give 5 year old child Montelukast 10 mg or less dose like 5 mg montair. And can it is ok for three months.

Montelukast is given for long period up to 3 months for its efficacy in doses advised by doctor. Yes, It may be given to 5 years old pt.

I am suffering from allergy conjunctivitis almost 2 years. Sometime this discontinue. When is problem rise then I am using this medicine IF2 eye drop (olopatadine hydrochloride) and genteal lubricant eye drop. Sometime I am used montair lc tab (montelukast sodium and levocetirizine hydrochloride. When these are medicine used then my problem disappear. When I expose to sunlight, dust, smell, smoke then once again appear this symptoms like puffy eye, pain in eye. Red and itching eye and nose. I am extremely trouble for this symptom because again and again comeback. Please sir tell me new way. Thank you.

For these allergic conditions unless you avoid the allergens triggering this you can't control it without medicine please protect your eyes with dark glasses whenever you are exposed to these circumstances.

Hello doctor, My 3.5 year old son has allergic cough .he has been taking montair lc syrup 2.5 ml daily from last one year .even now if I miss the single dose he coughs endlessly. doctor suggest me to stop this syrup but when I stop giving him that he gets congestion and coughs badly.

You can go for homeopathy with this antiallergic slowly you can skip antiallergic slowly. In allergic condition you need montek lc it's must. No harm. At the age of five this cough start resolving as pulmonologist stated.

Sir, I am suffering from cough with mucus from past 8 months. At beginning (may be after one and month of cough attack) I took montair lc once and cough was gone. But after one month cough again came and I contacted doctor and they told to take montair lc only. But this time if I am taking montair lc cough will go and it will come again after two days of stopping montair lc tablet. Doctor told me to take for 5 days. I took for 5 days and then on 7th day cough with mucus again comes. Again doctor told to continue the tablet for another 5 days. I took tablet for another 5 days and stopped. Again after two days cough with mucus started. I am worrying. please suggest me wat to do. Along with montair lc doctor given asthalin 2 mg tablet also. I took that tablet also for 5 days first and again 5 days for another tems along with montair lc as per doctor direction. But cough is not going permanently. please help me sir. Its not going even after taking montair lc tablet.

Health Query

My kid is five year old and he has been taking montair lc syrup since five months now. He gets the trigger of coughing once a day and it stops only with the administration of 5 ml of montair. We have done all his tests and found him allergic to dust. I just want to know if there any side effect of montair lc syrup and he is on treatment and doctor advised us for three months of nebulization of foracort 0.5 mg.

Please avoid the things which cause you sneezing. It could be dust, any particular food item of allergy, cold food items use montek fx 15 days at night, momenta nasal spray two puffs twice a day 15 days.

What is the best way to get rid of asthma. Currently i am taking montair LC kid. My age is 35 and if i take tablet daily, i feel better else need to take inhaler.

If you have Asthma the medication of choice are inhaled bronchodilators and steroids. Montair lc kid is meant for children and that too taken if concomitant allergy symptoms or allergic rhinitis.
