Dear Ms. lybrate-user
lupituss is a syrup that works on the brain to control your cough. Any medication that works in this manner can cause drowsiness and tiredness. Monticope is a combination of an antihistamine and montelukast. Antihistamines may cause sleepiness in upto 30% of patients even though they are claimed to be non sedating. If her cough has subsided, it would be a good idea to stop these medicines and that may be enough to stop her symptoms.
Best wishes.

Myself sk tripathi age 50 years (male). I am suffering from throat infection and pain in throat since 19 april 2020. No other symptom like cough or fever. I consulted doctor on 23.04.2020. He prescribed azax 500 tablet for 5 days and monticope a also for 5 days. After 7 days (as no improvement) he gave bp medicine (it was 160/100. For 5 days and again monticope a.again on 08.05.2020 he gave telekast l for 7 days+ same bp medicine (telma 40 + solopose 0.25).got blood tested for cbc, kft, lipid profile and blood sugar on 16.05.2020. Yesterday got report. Kft and sugar are ok. Lipid cholesterol is triglyceride-120, total cholesterol -110, hdl-39, ldl-47, vldl-24 (thus all below normal).in cbc all is ok except eosinophil as 7% (thus increased level). Doctor has given again telekast-l for 15 days and bp medicine (same telma+ solopose 0.25 for one month). But today morning again I am feeling so much tired, body pain and headache. Moderate stabbing pain in throat still there (pain stretching to ears) and head heavy. Please advise if medication given is ok. Why still not improvement after about one month.

your reports are ok nothing to worry about. Only eosinophils are raised. That's because of your throat infection. 1. Do saline gargles daily.
2. Whenever possible do steam inhalation also.
3. Cover your nose and mouth with hanky for at least 30 sec when you go in dusty areas also when you go in and out of ac. As our nose is the most sensitive part of our body, when there is temperature difference between two rooms or inside n outside, then if we not protect our nose, it gets affected.more
