The main treatment for severe asthma is long-term control medications that help prevent asthma symptoms. These include inhaled corticosteroids. inhaled long-acting beta-agonists.
Three leukotriene modifiers are approved to treat asthma:
montelukast (Singulair)
zafirlukast (Accolate)
zileuton (Zyflo)
