Eye drops do not usually cause damage over such short period, even steroid eye drops. Continued use over years can lead to cataract. But if there is an underlying infection which did not get treated properly, there is a high probability of loss of vision due to pus collecting in the eye or ulcers developing over the eye.

Its an auto immune disease and hence we can control it but not cure it fully and we can take a course of steroids after clinical examination.
