Weight gain is associated with many factors. Though some studies have shown that mirtazapine can lead to weight gain, it needs more research and evidence. Lowering of dose without your doctor's prescription is not advisable. Follow good eating habits and adequate intake of water to boost your metabolism and achieve desirable weight.

Dear Sir, Mirnite meltab is am antidepressant medication used for the treatment of depression and anxiety. It does help with sleep. Darkening of skin around write is not a recognized side effect of this medication. Please see a psychiatrist in person for further review of the treatment.

Hello lybrate-user, absence of menstrual period is one of the rare/uncommon side effect of mirtazepine. As you have already discontinued the medication please wait for a month to get your menstrual periods. If you still don't get them consult your gynecologist regarding the same.

You cannot calculate weight gain on the basis of dosage or when you restarted. Neither should you stop or restart medication without the doctor's consent and consultation. It is, in fact, dangerous. . From last 8 years I am suffering from depression and ocd, the medicine which I was taking has ruined by life now. I need support and guidance how to face this type of attacks and what is the permanent solution to get rid out of this. Every time when I visit psychiatrist he only increase the medicine dose. Whenever there is change in routine life like I go home or some marriage (happiness) or something bad happens repeated thoughts come into mind which leads to anxiety attack. Moreover depressive thoughts like nobody is with me, I am alone no financial support is there romes around my head though I am earning right now. Currently I am taking fluvator 100 mg mirnite meltab 7.5 mg galop 10 mg clonotril 1 mg also taking these medicines for a long run have feared me for side effects as I am losing memory power. Can I take above medicines lifetime? I request you to please guide me for overcoming the above situations.

there is one condition called treatment resistance ocd. I am not sure whether you have it. Usually ocd is very long lasting like bp and diabetes. Discontinuation of medication means returns of sever symptoms. What you can do is consult a qualified trained clinical psychologist who will tell certain technique to control your symptoms.
