Dear lybrate-user,

Developed signs of early morning wakening with a feeling of heavy heart in 2014. Ignored for a year or so. Then the problem started worsening with more heavy heart with loud pounding beats very early in the morning. Then I failed depressed or sad/ worried during day time also at times. Consulted a psychiatrist in 4/2014 who prescribed cipralex. After 4 months he added lamitor 100. Felt some improvement gor 3/4 months and stopped cipralex of my own. The state of depression recurred back and went on to lamitor 200 but no improvement. In november 2017 consulted another psychiatrist who changed the medicine and prescribed paroxetine12. 5, divalproex 250 and mirtazapine15. Felt improvement after few days. Stopped divalproex after 3 months. Then tapered paroxetine and finally stopped in april 2018. I was feeling good now. But unfortunately the condition hit back in early august this year. Now I have started paroxetine 12.5 with clonazepam .5 and continued mirtazapine15. Though I have again felt some relief but I always wake up with heavy heart and worried. During day time also I get sad or anxious at times. please suggest. Further I have elevated Triglyceride level about 500 which I heard is due to mirtazapine. Is there any alternative for that. I am also hypertensive taking amlodipine5 from last 6 years.

You may continue taking the prescribed medicines, but I think time you realised that medicine is giving you only interim relief, the moment you stop taking medicine, you begin to feel uncomfortable. Our physical reactions are not only controlled physiologically but are impacted by our thought process. I recommend that you meet a psychologist and work on your feelings and thoughts- unless you challenge the irrationality of your fears and your thoughts, you will continue having these difficulties....more

Normally we can say yes, but I don't know the exact reason of your anxieties. Sun is the natural source of vitamin d and sun is the source of positivity too. If you have deficiency of vitamin d that means you exposer in sun is very less. With the medicines start to sit in sun light in morning for 10-20 min. Lesser clothes on body and cover your eyes. Of you can start to go for a walk in morning when sun rises. It will help you. If you want to take any other help you can contact us.

Hello friend, good that you are seeking a help here. It's purely social anxiety issues or mindset issues. Just be aware that medicine are just one part of any psychic treatments like anxiety and they can't control your anxious or fearful thoughts. So in parallel you need to follow certain non medicine treatment plan like psychotherapies or mindset changes excersise, certain lifestyle changes, excersise, meditation etc to see a complete cure.

Hello and welcome to Lybrate. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Know anxiety to cure anxiety. General anxiety is not anxiety disorder. General anxiety could be an everyday affair. Do not confuse between anxiety and anxiety disorder. Psycho-education about anxiety and anxiety disorder is a powerful tool which helps the sufferer himself to manage the anxiety and panic attacks. This video provides an in-depth psycho-education on anxiety.
