Minoxidil is the treatment of choice for hair loss and is available in different concentration. If you feel 2% wasn't helpful then 5% or 10% can be used under your doctors supervision without any adverse effects.

Depression does not cause hair loss directly. Minoxidil can be used but it has side effects like cardiac effects. Consult your dermatologist and psychiatrist before using antidepressants along with minoxidil.
