Mr. Lybrate-user govind, there is nothing like stage I or 2 in diabetes. If you are on treatment then fasting should be closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg and hba1c% <7. If your current treatment is achieving that, then it is good. Controlling blood sugar near normal is very essential to prevent or delay the onset of long term complications of diabetes.

Hello, Vivek, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. From that it is clear that she is on multiple medications. However, there is no mention of herHbA1c%, weight, extent of physical activity, particularly exercises like brisk walking or any other activity plus dietary pattern . It is very essential to concentrate on following aspects - 1) weight control (BMI <23 kgs/Sq meter), 2) Taking a healthy balanced diet like - increased intake of green leafy vegetables, salads and certai...more

Dr. lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query.
Madam looking at your weight and height, it is clear that with a BMI of 30.24 kgs/M2, you are already in the grade 1 obesity. That is the main reason for having a slightly impaired glucose level. So the suggestion is please make efforts to reduce your weight. Your ideal body weight should be 57 kgs, so there is a need to cut a considerable number of Kgs. If that is achieved, glucose levell will be fine. Only taking metformin is unlikely to benefit. ...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Fasting glucose level is very high and PP also is not incontrol. What it means is that only Metformin 500 mg is not adequate. There is a need for upgrading the treatment. Ideally Fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 170 to 180 mg & HbA1c% <7.
His thyroid hormone levels are fine. No reason to worry about that. It is also necessary to look at his diet and extent of exercise. Thanks.

Hello
Your last test was in normal range pls check intermittently for precautions, if it will within normal then no need of medicines. Just do regular exercise, maintain food timing ,good sleep 8hrs in night, avoid excess sugar in food, then no need of any medicine in future.

Thanks for your query.
As per your reports, your hba1c has come down to pre diabetes range.
So you need to reduce the dose of metformin to once daily. You need to continue it as you are little overweight and you have concurrent hypertension, dyslipidemia.
For any further information or advice you can book an online consultation with me on Lybrate. Thank you. Take care till then.
