My mother (58 years) is suffering with thyroid and hypertension problems from last seven years. Recently 15 days back she was fainted and became unconscious for 10 minutes. She has the following symptoms 1 Sudden Palpitations in heart upto 170 beats per minute 2 Feeling weak 3 Tremors in hands 4 headache 5 High blood pressure 170/100 6 Breathlessness Previously she was treated by Senior General physician in Manipal Hospital from last seven years. Since her problems are recurring in a short time I have consulted a endocrinologist and admitted her in his hospital to find the root cause since there was no endocrinologist in Manipal Vijayawada. She is under his diagnosis from last four days in the hospital and sir expressed the causes may be Artilary Infillatraion or pheochromocytoma. He forwarded the 24 hours urine collection for analysis. Now the problem is she is suffering with high BP and high heart beat once in the morning everyday for an hour which she could not able to tolerate and when she takes tablets the BP and heartbeat raises further and more she is suffering. after that she becomes normal for remaining time in the day. She took medical 25 (metoprolol) for two days and today she takes Tellzy AM 40 mg (Telmisartan & Amlodipine) but there is difference and she suffered a lot for one hour. The doctor sir is saying that he will start the treatment after the examination only till that time he asked to continue the old treatment which is 1 Early morning Thyroxine 50 mg 1 tablet. 2 After breakfast Tellzy AM 40 mg 3 After Lunch Remetor CV 10 (Atorvastatin 10 mg and Clopidogrel 75 mg) What can I do now since we are not able to see her while suffering a lot for an hour a day regularly? My mother could use stalopam 10 mg tablets?

Some alteration of medicine is needed. If 24 hours urine sample is completed, discuss with your Dr. a long acting beta blocker tablet to be taken 2-8 hours (late night or very early morning) before the time of fast heart beating symptoms. Best wishes.

I am 33, having sinus tachycardia so taking tablet (telmisartan metoprolol) suggested by cardiologist since 2 yrs. BP absolutely normal 120/80 whenever I check it. Stil 5 months back I was feeling some needle type pain and reading about heart issues made me scared so done EKG. Which shows abnormal EKG with probably mi infarction but impression was no significant changes in the t-st wave. But doc said sometimes machine is at fault so done stress test which I ran well and completely normal. 2d echo was normal too except mild mitral valve prolapse but again doc said lot of ppl hv it. Now last 3 nights on finishing work had to wake till morning and sleep 4-5 hours but changed timings. Now some very small needle type around chest on off comes and goes but now really concern is once I lie down I get sleep quickly (since past a month). Once I am in deep sleep, I may hv strange dream which makes me suddenly wake up and even eyes open I can see that dream for mini seconds and heart is racing and it gets cool down in few min but once woke up not able sleep easily. Today afternoon while having nap, same thing happened, was very sleepy as earlier day not slept much, after few min of slept I murmur some string and found heart racing and woke up. After that I might slept 1: 45 am today and got up 1: 52 with hand thrown feeling and heart racing. Then I able to sleep like. 3 am and nd got up around 4 with palm of hand felt any, heavy, yellow in color but once I woke up it gone in Mili seconds and heart racing which cools down in few seconds. Now almost every time I sleep since 2 days it's happening. Guys please tell me anyone experienced or to whom should I consult.

My Mother 81 years old has Total Cholesterol 238, Triglycerides 121, HDL Cholesterol 59, LDL Cholesterol 155, Platelet Count 150000, Haemoglobin 9.7, RBC Count 3.2, WBC Count 4740, Serum TSH 5.6, Cardio HS - CRP 1.16, Blood Pressure 170/80, Echo cardiograph Report (Ejection Fraction 55, Reduced LV Diastolic Compliance), normal blood sugar, normal ECG, normal kidney, normal liver and normal lung. She suffers from chronic high blood pressure (Hypertension), high cholesterol, hypothyroidism (high TSH in Thyroid blood test), Anemia. She also has mild Vitamin B12 deficiency and Vitamin D deficiency. She never suffered from any heart attack, stroke or peripheral artery disease. She never had any stent placement. She takes TELVAS BETA 50 MG tablet (this tablet contains Telmisartan 40 MG and Metoprolol 50 MG) once daily for Hypertension, Thyronorm 25 MCG tablet once daily for Hypothyroidism, Surbex Gold capsule once daily for Vitamin B12 deficiency, TAYO 60K tablet once monthly for Vitamin D deficiency, FERIUM tablet once daily for Anemia. Doctor also advised her to take Zyrova C 75 Capsule (this capsule contains Rosuvastatin 5 MG and Clopidogrel 75 MG). Zyrova C 75 Capsule contains Rosuvastatin for lowering cholesterol, but this capsule also contains blood thinner antiplatelet drug Clopidogrel 75 MG. Does my Mother need blood thinner antiplatelet drug Clopidogrel 75 MG? Can Clopidogrel cause bleeding inside the brain and other parts of the body? Does Clopidogrel start bleeding OR does Clopidogrel prolong bleeding OR does Clopidogrel both start bleeding and prolong bleeding? What happens to a patient taking Clopidogrel if bleeding starts? How does bleeding stop and how long does it take for bleeding to stop?

Clopidogrel is thinner and any thinner has side effect of possible bleeding. But prescribing doctor compares advantages v/s disadvantages keeping history, examination findings, reports and stage of life and decides to give or not give. As everything in life has advantages and disadvantages both and to get advantages one must accept possible disadvantages. That is why examining treating doctor comes into picture.

Tenormin and losakind aren't bad but role of tenormin in controlling High BP is dubious. Metosartan is superior product. It contains Metoprolol and Telmasartan. Janumet is better drug as your age. It won't cause hypoglycemia and it is weight neutral medicine. Si current regimen is quite better.

Hi...
R2-10 is antilipid tablet..
While Telmisartan is Antihypertensive...so both are different medicines...

My advise is to start her on homoeoapthic treatment otherwise the dose of telmisartan will go on increasing and she have to take more than one tablet as they are no curing hypertension ever.. they just control it..
