Hello, Thanks for the query.
Madam looking at your height and weight, with a BMI of 33.2 kgs/Sq meter, you are having an excess of over 25 kgs. This can be the culprit for not being able to control the blood glucose.

Dear Lybrate user, I understand that you have been doing quite a bit of research on the medications, but I just want to make one correction. You are right about pioglitazone, but not the glimepiride whose main function is to stimulate insulin production from the pancreas and not to reduce insulin resistance. This is done by mostly metformin and pioglitazone. Hence you are taking combination of 2 tablets with similar function. If your sugars are controlled and you are not getting any side-effects...more

Metformin is a safe drug to be used in diabetes because chances of hypoglycemia are very less with it.
Pioz (Pioglitazone) is another drug used to control blood sugar with different mechanism.
Usually second drug is added when blood sugar is not controlled with diet restrictions, regular exercise and single medicine.

Take her to your local physician and check her sugars immediately. If not possible, watch for symptoms of low sugar (tremors, uneasiness, sweating, hunger, giddiness) and if any of the symptoms are seen, give her sugar immediately.
Then visit your family physician for routine check up.

Hello, thanks for the query.
Looking at these details I get a feeling of having answered the question earlier. The hba1c% is mentioned as %, so your hba1c% is 12.2 plus. 306 mg means average glucose that is present in the blood. Once glucose level is brought under control, then it can be discontinued. Ayurvedic drugs and diet control, exercise will no...more
