Hello, thanks for the query.
Tablet gluconorm 500sr is containing only 500 mg of metformin in sustained release form. Where as the gluconorm pg2 contains glimiperide 2 mg and pioglitazone 15 mg. The second tablet must have been prescribed because the blood glucose levels are not in control. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the information given. HbA1c% is quite good, showing very good glucose control. Fasting glucose should ideally be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg.
It is invariably dependent on your night time food intake and on overall physical activity.
So reduce fasting, you will have to give a closer look at your dietary intake particularly at dinner time. If you cut down that fasting glucose will come down.

Hello,
your blood glucose is really high for your age. You need to control your blood glucose levels aggressively, otherwise, you will be at a very high risk of diabetes complications as you are young. You need some drastic lifestyle changes and change in medications. When did you do your hba1c (glycosylated hemoglobin)

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Recently some combinations containing multiple drugs are banned. In that case you may have to consult your doctor and aske for substitute prescription. Because that tablet has Glimiperide, Met formin and Pioglitazone. So do consult your doctor. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query
You have mentioned the drugs and dosage being taken, but there us no mention of blood glucose levels and HbA1c%, so I am unable to know whether glucose is well controlled or not.
Another aspect you are taking 30 mg of Pioglitazone, which is the maximum dose recommended. It is better if that is reduced to 15 mg a day. Please let me know the glucose levels and HbA1c% Then only I can comment. Plus I need to know the diet pattern and extent of exercise,...more

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
As per my information these tablets are available in all the places. In case you are not able to get then can go for similar combination other brands like k - pio gm or can take tablets containing glimiperide plus metformin and a separate tablet of pioglitazone. Thanks.
