Hello.
Since the onset of diabetes is so early in pregnancy and the blood sugar is not within target level it's will be best to shift to insulin rather than continuing with metformin.
The target of treatment should be fasting blood sugar less than 90 and 2 hours post prandial less than 120. With this calorie restriction and light physical restriction is also desirable.

Hello, Mr. lybrate-user. Your father's age is 69 years so his sugar values are slightly on lower side. Chances of hypoglycemia are more with such strict control in this age. You have not mentioned when he is taking gluconorm and when he is taking eternex m. His medicines needs to be reduced.

Hello lybrate-user,
seems like you are suffering from poly cystic ovarian disease. If you already have children, you need not worry much about it. However if you are trying to conceive now or some time later, you will need a proper course of treatment. I recommend you take homeopathic treatment for your problem as homeopathy has good medicines without side effects for such problems.

Dosage. Metformin plain should be taken thrice daily with food however it varies according to the patient need but SR is prescribed once for a day since it has long duration of action. Kindly consult a Diabetologist in person since your body needs varies.
