You have just mentioned about having diabetes and taking metformin 850 mg (how many times is not given). Plus there is no information on glucose levels (fastiing, pp & hba1c%), nothing about your dietary pattern weight, height and extent of exercise as well as lipid profile. Diabetes is a progressive disease. The oral drugs work as long as the body is producing it’s own adequate insulin. The drugs which he is currently taking stimulates insulin making cells to produce more insulin thus controlling sugars, but with time the insulin making cells don’t make enough insulin to control the metabolic needs thus the sugar levels goes up. So at this point one would ideally need insulin.
