If you are suffering with prolonged constipation, gas, pain in nerves problem, perhaps these are the sings of kidney stones. Treatment like sound waves to break up your stones, parathyroid gland surgery, laser etc. Are very effective. Seek proper consultation and prescription before go for any medication.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Blood glucose level 270 mg (fasting or after food is not mentioned), is high. It means that present treatment is not really helping in controlling the glucose level properly. He does need some additional drugs. Plus there needs to be a close given to diet and extent of exercise being done daily. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user Thanks for the query.
Your glucose levels are normal. I really do not see the reason for prescription of metformin. Following are the criteria for diagnosing diabetes & related conditions: 1)Normal: FBG: 70 to 100 mg (earlier 110 mg), PP < 140 mg & HbA1c% <5.7%
2) Pre-diabeteic: FBG:101 to 125 mg, PP 141 to 199 mg & HbA1c% 5.7 to 6.4%
3) Diabetes: FBG 126 mg and above, PP 200 mg and above & HbA1c% 6.5 5 and above. I hope things are clear to you. Thanks.

Dose adjustment needed. Insulin shd be given 2/3rd in the morning while I was remaining 1/3rd in the evening. That's the correct pattern. Cetapin is metformin only which is already there on amaryl m. You shd rather have medicine of another group. Call me if needed for proper treatment. Regards.
