Rectal cancer is the growth of cancerous cells in the rectum, which is the colon s lower part of the colon, connecting the large bowel and the anus. The basic function of the rectum is to collect the stool that is formed inside the human body before it is eliminated from the body. Altered bowel habits, bleeding per rectum are usual presenting symptoms. Must get stool checked for occult blood and digital as well as colonoscopic examination and biopsy from suspicious area.

Hi there is no treatment than surgery for rectal prolapse. It doesn't affect kidney. Thanks regards.

After complete treatment for rectal cancer, patient should follow up with cancer surgeon every 3 monthly for first 2 years, then 6 monthly for next 3 years, then yearly thereafter. At every visit patient should get CEA and ultasonography done.
Other than this if patient has persistent pain while passing motion, difficulty in passing motion or if there is blood in stools, then the patient needs to show to a surgical oncologist immediately.
