Thanks for your Query. My advise to you is that you take some light snacks before doing exercise, secondly take small easily digestible meals at regular intervals. Secondly I would like to advise you to take a Pre Probiotic on daily basis which will help in your colitis also. For further information and advise you can book an online consultation with me on Lybrate. Thank you. Take care till then.

The enema tablet or laxative should not be taken too much and too commonly as it can depleted the body of mineral and vitamins Gastrointestinal side effects associated with sodium biphosphate-sodium phosphate tablets have included bloating (up to 47%), nausea (up to 37%), abdominal pain (up to 30%), and vomiting (up to 10%). Anal irritation, diarrhea, nausea, and stomach cramps have been reported with the enema formulation.

It is a remitting and relapsing disease and the medication like Mesacol is the only remedy If your symptoms are severe, you will need to be hospitalized to correct the effects of dehydration and malnutrition that diarrhea causes. Surgery is necessary when there is massive bleeding, chronic and debilitating symptoms, perforation of your colon, or if there is a risk of cancer. A barium enema and a colonoscopy can detect these serious problems. Surgical options include proctocolectomy with ileostomy (the most common surgical treatment) and ileoanal anastomosis.

I think if your symptoms are not controlled by mesalazine, i would like to evaluate the symptoms and reports. We can change some medications if still it is not improved we can treat this by surgery.
