Typically, the skin darkens when exposed to sunlight because it produces a substance, called melanin, to protect itself from the harmful solar radiation. Melanin is the pigment that gives color to our hair, eyes, and skin. And the more melanin your skin makes, the darker your skin becomes. Its also great to use sunscreen every time you go outside.
As far as lightening products, you can try creams and soaps that contain kojic acid, glutathione, aplha-arbutin, licorice extract, mulberry extrac...more

Hi Lybrate-User, Melacare cream has steroid and hydroquinone which cause multiple side effects on skin on prolonged use. Recovery will take few weeks, for that foremost thing is use a good broad spectrum sunscreen according to your skin and use it 15 to 20 mins before sun exposure and repeat its application every 3 hours if you are out. Use a mild cleanser like cetaphil for face wash avoid fragrance or acids containing face wash. At night time use a good oil free moisturiser and use in morning a...more

Hii, hydroquinone and tretinoin based combination creams are to be used only under supervision when advised by a dermatologist. Otherwise it may cause pigmentation k/a exogenous oochronosis by hydroquinone and dryness (tretinoin). For radiance and shine, you can start with facewash based on your skin type, moisturiser, sunscreens and serums. Please consult a dermatologist so that you get a customised regime according to your skin type.

Melalite cream xl has a potent steroid mometasone. Seroids can make your complexion fair, but overuse causes permanent damage to skin.
Never use any cream which has a steroid without a dermatologist prescription. Long term use of hydroquinone can cause exogenous ochronosis. You need to consult a skin specialist for Specialist care.
