Hello Lybrate User
You need to consult to your psychiatrist for the same as you have been taking the medication on and off. Moreover, try to figure out that what is causing the anxiety within you. Because it is very important to understand the 'what' of anxiety so that you can also discuss about it and it will lower down to a level. Regards.

Medication regime which you are talking about is more likely indicative of treatment of psychotic depression having some mixed features. So in this medication needs to be continued long term. May be few years. All a psychiatrist can say is if you stop medication abruptly then subsequent episode is going to be more rapid and severe.

While it is not addictive stopping it suddenly may cause “ discontinuation symptoms “ which are more like anxiety symptoms. Like always please discuss with your doctor about change of medications especially if you wish to stop the medicine as it should be gradually reduced in dose and stopped to avoid the above mentioned discontinuation symptoms.

Dear Yash,
Lonazep is safe. Except that in the long run, Neeti may become dependent on it. If Neeti has already taking it for many years, let him not increase the dose on his own. He need not stop it suddenly also.
