I am really in trouble in last week of June after a week long fever and uti diagnosed with 1: 40 dilution positive for typhoid 6 1gm monocef iv inj bd fever gone but problem in passing the urine remained back at present all test negative including typhoid. Only TLC counts is 15000 appx suspectingwhich my doctor has prescribed 100 mg nitrofurantoin tab QID today is third day no improvement in urination (difficulty in passing) and intermittent fever upto 100-102 is prevailing suggest me the best option please. I have one 3 mm stone in each kidney.

As you are not responding to monocef antibiotic should be given according to the culture sensitivity report of urine, antibiotic directed againt the agent causing it. Also other causes than bacteria like tuberculosis should be investigated. U are also more prone to uti dt the kidney stone.

I'm 29 years old recently I have been treated for cystitis (uti) urologist prescribed to take antibiotics (nitrofurantoin) for a month and k-mac tonic for ten days, the symptoms were controlled the second day I started to take those but i've completed the medication period with those tonic and tablets but for me it didn't cure completely, I still feel it persists when I urinate. Bacteria culture report was taken recently it showed negative growth of bacteria. Blood test done urine test done doctor said all are normal. I still feel little discomfort while I urinate what should I do? Any guaranteed treatment for it or any diet I have to follow or this discomfort persists? I still feel the infection growing in me.

Authenticity of lab also matters. You should do repeat test for urine culture of early morning midstream urine.

Hi, im a 17 years old boy. Since 3 months, I have been suffering from staphylococcus aureus in urine due to which my sperm count has dastrictly decreased & there is pain in my testis. In culture report, nitrofurantoin, cefixime,ofloxacin, amoxicillin,cefepime, co-trimoxazole, ciprofloxacin are resistance. While, ceftriaxone, levofloxacin,amikacin are sensitive. Doctor gave me levofloxacin for 1 week which worked for some time but my pain in testis is recurring & sperm count has been so low. Though,my ultrasound of testis is totally normal. please doctor help me cure this.

Hello, over the past week ive had urinary pain and burning. Ive gone to urgent care and urine had no bacteria. I was prescribed nitrofurantoin and it did not help long term, pain continued. Felt relief for a while but pain did not go away. I noticed I started feeling an itchy feeling down there and my head had a rash / red discoloration that seemed irritated. Went back to another urgent care and was provided medication for a yeast infection. This seemed to really help. Was told on the third day to take the second pill if needed. Im on my second day and the burning is back just as strong as before. Do utis really last this long to heal? Should I be worried its something else? Please note im only sexually active with my wife.

2.Wipe from front to back after toilet
3.Take lots of water so as to have clear urine
4.Do not use any spray, scented bath products
5.Try to take shower rather than bath
6.Clean genitals before sex and pass urine after sex to flush out any bacteria

Asked for female, 24 years old from Malappuram

I'm 22 year old female (unmarried). I had been to the op on 20th of april due to uti symptoms with fever, vomiting and increased urine frequency. I was prescribed ciprofloxacin for 3 days which didn't subside my symptoms. I had to later take another course of nitrofurantoin, oflox and levoflox. It's been a month and I still have flank pain, back ache increased luts. My urine culture report, as of today has shown resistance to levoflox. Can you please help me by letting me know why exactly isn't my uti going away?

Sir I want to ask that m suffering from UTI the organism isolated found is Esch coli so I consulted a doctor here so he prescribed uroberry and fosirol and nitrofurantoin medicine becoz colony count is 10^5. I want to know if this bacteria is caused by sexual contact or not becoz he said that your partner is infected from this virus tell him to test once. Medicines are so costly and are not affordable. So what should I do. I searched in internet. Nothing like this I found that e coli is caused by being sexual involved. So what should I do. Should I tell my partner to get a urine culture. I don't have any idea about this and don't evn have enough money to do it privately. And don't know whether to trust my doctor or not becoz he is a government doctor and instead of treating us in the hospital for free he charges 500 rs for every single time for just meeting him. Please help me with my problem.

Sorry sir, I made many attempts to ask you by mistake. But please answer mei for god, I need serious help. On 2nd of march, my gynae prescribed me nitrofurantoin 100 mg & becosules as after urine culture I got to know I have e coli present in my urinary tract. After 10 days, she asked me to check if there is still e coli by doing a last urine culture test after medication got over but due to lighten I was unable. Now on 7th of april, my burning sensation during peeing again happened & now it's 3 4 days i'm having regular irritation during peeing. What should I do? I'm fearing to go to doctor as of corona infection fear, can any doctor prescribe me next medicines over call? How can I get over this situation? Please help.

I have frequent urination with night urination 3 times every night .i was eating nitrofurantoin and cefixime 500 .after 2 to 3 days again symptoms back. What is the reason .i do my urine r/m.result is albumin +30 mg/dl and chyle - sperms what does it mean. I also have done urine culture and sugar test .but reports will be received soon .plz reply anything serious. Which doctor to see and previous month my urine report was total normal means albumin nil .but this much huge hike.

Increased frequency of urination can occur due different causes like urinary tract infections, diabetes and/or prostate enlargement. Since you are only 44 years old, prostate enlargement is unlikely cause. Since there is the history of UTI, you may have to continue the antibiotic treatment for a few more days. Plus drink enough water and other fluids. Also get your blood glucose (fasting & PP) done, to see if there is any increase in the glucose levels. Thanks.
