Dear sir/ madam I am facing constant itching and urge to scratch my vulvar region. There is no itching in vagina. I have already taken 14 days course of urikind and nitrofurantoin. I have also taken fluconazole twice. These medicines were prescribed by gynaecologist. Kindly help.

I am 28 years old. 2nd pregnancy. 32 weeks. I have e.coli infection (urine infection). My regular gynaec is not available in clinic as it is a red zone. She advised to take nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice a day for 5 days. I want to know if that is safe to take now as I am already 32 weeks. Please advise.

Don't worry
Avoid nitrofurointoin during pregnancy
Take plenty of water daily
Take salads and fruits more before lunch and dinner regularly
Take following medication
Sy neeri by aimil pharma
20 ml in 200 ml water three times a day for 7 days

I am 24, male. A year or two before I faced this problem of frequent urination, mostly at night. But then it went away on its own. Then, like 2 months ago it happened again with some irritation and burning sensation somewhere the near pelvis. A doctor prescribed me silodosin 4 mg (1x), flavoxate (1x) and nitrofurantoin 100 mg (2x). After taking the dosage for 2 days I had my usg done which was normal. So I just had nitrofurantoin for one more day and stopped the whole medication. But then it occurred again and this time nitrofurantoin is not working (took it for 3 days now) and the burning sensation and frequent urination is more severe. I am experiencing sleepless nights bcz of frequent urination, burning sensation. I can also hear and feel some gurgling sounds near the pelvis. Please help.

You should check your urine routine tests again to know whether there is any infection. After your give urine sample start nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice daily for seven days along with sildosin. Add syrup cital 3 teaspoons three times per day after meals. It is advisable to meet your doctor at earliest.

My father is 59 years old, he is diabetic since 15-20 years, and using medicines only (no insulins). He is taking vildazen-m 500, clator lc, urifur sr100, a zilsartan medoxomil 40 mg, multivitamins, teneligliptin 20 mg, pioglitazone. These medicines are being consumed from quite some time. In past few weeks, his tastebuds aren't responding good, he is feeling low and week all the time, weakness is being felt by him, he feels low about life as his body isn't supporting him much, sometimes he feels hopeless about life, he feel he do not have much time. I am feel so bad about it. Please suggest me what can be done, what should be done, I am too worried and nervous about his health, he is always been a enthusiastic person, now he east almost 1/10th what he used to eat initially. He leaves food midway feeling his stomach is full. Please give the necessary suggestions.

Take more amount of liquids like water, juices, tender coconut, banana stem juice because these will wash way microorganisms while urinating.

The pus cells in her routine urine test is 10-12 and urine culture tests came negative. Now, we are concerned whether she should take this med or not? Though Martifur is currently allowed in the pregnancy according to recent guidelines
But its use is specially Restricted during the last few weeks of pregnancy, since it has risk of Hemolytic anaemia to the fetus. Since she is in her 35th week, I would advice to not continue wid it. Better be safe.

Health Query

Hi doctor, I had fever on 13th and 14th of May, then on 15th no fever but I observed 2 drops of blood from urine. I had blood test for uric acid, urea, BUN, creatinine, Calcium, phosphate, sodium, which all was normal. I showed a general physician, he asked me to have usg and urinalysis, usg showed everything normal with distended gall bladder and urinary bladder. I am having pain while urinating at the tip of glans since last 4 days but it has increased since last 24 hours. urinalysis reports have not come yet. Is it kidney stones or urinary tract infection? Doctor has given me nifty sr 100 for 7 days. Should I start it?

I'm 23 year old male. I experienced smelly urine yellowish in color with little discomfort while pissing since last 2 months. When I consulted doctor, he recommended complete haemogram, liver function test, hiv, hbsag-rapid test, urine routine, creatinine tests. In tests every thing is normal with pus cells 3-4 /hpf and epithelial cells 4-5/hpf with no rbc in urine. He said everything is normal and prescribed nifty sr tab & citralka syrup. Another doctor suggested ultrasound scanning. What should I do now? What might be my problem. Thank you for suggestions in advance.

Hello. Your Dr. rightly advised you the tests .he also gave you meds for UTI. The advice for ultrasound is also right.
Please see, any abnormal discharge via urine should be well investigated. An early morning midstream urine culture and sensitivity test are highly recommended too.
You can consult a urologist in your city for proper diagnosis and treatment. Thanks.

"As" per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -
1) Do a clinical examination by your Doctor[urologist] and to confirm do few investigations like this (Urine RE/ME/CULTURE & cystoscope) and take correct medication as per the report.
2) Do check your fasting blood sugar on tomorrow and if it is high then discuss with your Doctor to adjust medications and without medication adjustment infection will not be controlled.
