I am suffering from urine infection from 5 months. As I take nitrofurantoin sustained released tablets it gets cure and after 15 days it start again. I an suffering with burning sensation and painful urine which I can not pass throughly.

Urine for culture and sensitivity.
If it's e.coli it may take 6-8 months.
No harm in taking nitrofurantoin.

Both the sonography amd urine for culture and sensitivity reports were 100% normal. Can you prescribe some medicine which may cure the normal infection throughly as nitrofurantoin is causes a lot of dizziness and fatigue.

so drink plenty of fluids 5 to 6 litre day
continue nitrofurantoin for two weeks
get urine culture and usg kub done
take urine alkaliser
maintain penile hygeine
use condoms for intercourse
treat yur partner
rule out sexualy trandmited disease

I am 28 years old. 2nd pregnancy. 32 weeks. I have e.coli infection (urine infection). My regular gynaec is not available in clinic as it is a red zone. She advised to take nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice a day for 5 days. I want to know if that is safe to take now as I am already 32 weeks. Please advise.

Avoid nitrofurointoin during pregnancy
Take plenty of water daily
Take salads and fruits more before lunch and dinner regularly
Take following medication
Sy neeri by aimil pharma

I am 24, male. A year or two before I faced this problem of frequent urination, mostly at night. But then it went away on its own. Then, like 2 months ago it happened again with some irritation and burning sensation somewhere the near pelvis. A doctor prescribed me silodosin 4 mg (1x), flavoxate (1x) and nitrofurantoin 100 mg (2x). After taking the dosage for 2 days I had my usg done which was normal. So I just had nitrofurantoin for one more day and stopped the whole medication. But then it occurred again and this time nitrofurantoin is not working (took it for 3 days now) and the burning sensation and frequent urination is more severe. I am experiencing sleepless nights bcz of frequent urination, burning sensation. I can also hear and feel some gurgling sounds near the pelvis. Please help.

You should check your urine routine tests again to know whether there is any infection. After your give urine sample start nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice daily for seven days along with sildosin. Add syrup cital 3 teaspoons three times per day after meals. It is advisable to meet your doctor at earliest.

Urge of urination, but no urine releases and severe feel og pain is normal at that time. She is taking clingen forte and martifur Mr. 100 mg since last 4 days but after that she is not so relaxed. Take more amount of liquids like water, juices, tender coconut, banana stem juice because these will wash way microorganisms while urinating.

Hi, My wife is 35 weeks pregnant and doctor has recommended her Martifur 100 100 mg tablet for 7 days (2 times a day) for a UTI. The pus cells in her routine urine test is 10-12 and urine culture tests came negative. Now, we are concerned whether she should take this med or not? Is this medicine pregnancy safe, as some links on google tell yes and some no? So, I want to know the opinions from doctors.

Though Martifur is currently allowed in the pregnancy according to recent guidelines
But its use is specially Restricted during the last few weeks of pregnancy, since it has risk of Hemolytic anaemia to the fetus. Since she is in her 35th week, I would advice to not continue wid it. Better be safe.

My grand child is 14 months old. He it' s been diagnosed vur. He has been prescribed urifast tab. 12. 5mg at night for prophylaxis. I am facing problem in administering the medicine at night. He usually vomits after about half an hour of taking the medicine, if I give it with food at night. If, I try to give him when he is about to fall asleep, he goes to sleep before I am able to give the complete medicine mixed with food. My questions are: 1. Can the medicine be given in two doses and at what interval. 2. Can it be given any time during the day time 3. Any other suggestions for administering the medicine which the child refuses to take or vomits either due to its taste or after some other reaction? thanks

1. This medicine can not be given in two doses.
2. It has to be given at night as urine stays longer in bladder at night.
3. If his g6pd levels are normal he can be prescribed septran dose at night.
