About Lymecycline

Lymecycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, which is used to treat various infections including Chlamydia infections, Infections caused by Mycoplasma organisms and Brucella bacteria (brucellosis), Bacterial infections of the urinary tract, Leptospirosis (Weil's disease) and sexually transmitted infections. It is prescribed for treating acne as well. Consult your doctor regarding the dosage and schedule.

Before using Lymecycline:

  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding
  • Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medicines or dietary supplements
  • Tell your doctor if you have lupus
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of liver disease

Lymecycline should not be given to children under the age of 12. Side effects of Lymecycline include diarrhoea, vomiting, sore or painful tongue or mouth, yellowing of the skin or eyes, increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight, abdominal pain, ulcerative colitis, hypersensitive reactions and dizziness. Allergic reaction to this medicine may cause itching, rash and red blotchy spots on the skin.
