Dear Lybrate User, Allopathic medicines shd be stopped not abruptly but the dosage has to be reduced gradually. For example, if patient is taking 1 tablet a day, reduce it to half tablet a day for a month. In next subsequent month, reduce it to 1/4th for a month. And then stop it. Yes its a good dose and recovery time is not dose dependent. Antidepressants take 2 weeks to start acting. Increasing the dose might not necessarily fasten the recovery.

Since she is already on medication I suggest you talk to her treating Psychiatrist and convey her current symptoms to them. It is possible that some changes in medication dosages will help improve the symptoms. As they are familiar with your history it is always better to have a discussion with them regarding this situation.

You need to get your prescription revised. Zyven od plus can be avoided as it can worsen mania and also cause difficulty waking in the morning. Discuss with your psychiatrist.
