About Luporal Capsule

Luporal Capsule is an antineoplastic agent used to treat malignant neoplasms and advanced colorectal cancer.

Let your doctor know if you are hypersensitive, pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding, if you’re taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs, herbal medicines and diet supplements. It is not to be used if you are malnourished, have renal impairment, a history of cardiac disease or an infection.

Luporal Capsule can be given orally or intravenously. Never take a double dose of Luporal Capsule, it is better that you skip it till the next time you take it. Remember to ask the doctor any queries that you may have about the medicine and the course of the treatment.

The side effects of Luporal Capsule are hot flashes, oedema, itching, bone marrow depression, hemorrhage, alopecia, nausea and vomiting.     How does this medication work?

    In order to drive the synthesis of DNA as well as the purines in cells 2-deoxythymidylate transformed from 2-deoxyuridylate is required. For the alteration of dUMP to dTMP thymidylate synthase, catalysis takes place. This medication acts as a predecessor to thymidine triphosphate (TTP).
