Dear lybrate-user,
How long the medication will continue depends upon why you are taking them and what is the severity of your symptoms. Usually the anti depressants are taken for at least 6 months and then it has to be continued depending on your response to medications. If you are suffering from side effects please consult psychiatrist who can adjust the dose or change the medication. Thanks

If your doctor has suggested to cut down on the dosage of your medicines then it is important you follow the instructions (which are based on your reporting of symptoms and doctor's evaluation). Never self prescribe! and if you feel and find it difficult with the dosage please inform your doctor immediately rather than adjusting medicines on your own.

Dear Sriram,
It looks as though your doctor was finding it difficult to manage schizophrenia symptoms in you. That is why so many tablets given to you.
Just for the difficulty in passing stool in the morning, you need not stop amisulpride. It can be managed by increasing water intake, lot of fiber rich food or a laxative tablet.
