Dear lybrate user. I can understand. Agoraphobia treatment consists of cognitive behavioral therapy, life style changes, relaxation therapy and meditation. Once you learn how to manage your anxiety yourself with the help of the above treatment methods, you will be cured and you can stop the medicines if any. You are already under cbt treatment. Usually it takes 6 months to one year for a complete cure. The improvement purely depends on the efficacy of the cbt. Hope your cbt is good. Take care.

If you have been continuing medications unaltered for last 20 years it is rather difficult to quit them at once. I hope you have been taking them under the supervision of a psychiatrist. If not, then I am afraid you might have become dependent on these medications.
It is advisable that you consult your treating physician or a psychiatrist to consider weaning off these medicines after a detailed evaluation of your present status and symptoms.

For good sleep, just try out these simple ways - 1. Stick to a sleep schedule- Go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Try to limit the difference in your sleep schedule on weeknights and weekends to no more than one hour. Being consistent reinforces your body's sleep-wake cycle.
If you don't fall asleep within about 20 minutes, leave your bedroom and do something relaxing. Read or listen to soothing music. Go back to bed when you're tired. Repeat as needed.
2. Pay attention to ...more

Duration of your treatment depends on how serious your problem is. Also how well you cope with the anxious situation.
You can go for counselling sessions along with the medication.

Take her to the Hospital safely, don't panic, no intervention at this point is needed just provide enough airway for her. Don't worry she will be fine.
