There are lots of medications available for the the depression and anger but the selection of medication is very tricky and important for optimal benifit and least side effects and that depends on many factors like - past history, family history, severity of illness, duration, number of episodes, treatment response, side effects from previous treatment etc. So I would recommend you to discuss your case in detail with a psychiatrist nearby or online so that thorough evaluation is done and accordi...more

Deer Pankaj,
Lorazepam addiction also needs treatment along with your depression. Though you have mentioned the tablets name, you have not mentioned the maximum dose tried and the duration of each tablet taken. If it is maximum dose and adequate duration, you will be given add-ons of intractable depression. There are many more that will be added to your antidepressant. Any therapy if added, most of the psycho social problems of depression can be resolved. Your quality of life will improve in...more

Hello
- lorazepam is meant to be used for short term use only. Usually not recommended to continue over 4 weeks. It needs to be gradually tapered down to prevent withdrawal effects
- have you been diagnosed with ocd? In that case you will benefit by ssri medication. I see that you are already on fluoxetine which will be helpful. Dose needs to be adjusted according to response.
- why was amitriptyline prescribed? Discuss with your doctor to see whether it can be stopped gradually

please inform
firstly why did you begin with treatment
and since how long have you been taking it
usually psychiatric medicines should be stopped by tapering the dose , not immediately.
and please remove this thought from. your head that you are sick or addicted.
your doctor may once again begin you with the medicines and then stop them slowly tapering the dose, this way you won't have so much trouble even after stopping the medicine fully.

Lorazepam is used for de addiction from alcohol, but it is given for a short time, few weeks only. If you have become addicted to it you need to consult a psychiatrist and you can be weaned away from that suggesting alternates and then stopping them too. Good luck.

Dear Benazir,
All these antidepressants take 2-3 weeks to start action on your mood. They lift the mood at a particular dose. Doctors always start with low dose so that you can tolerate them better. After 2-3 weeks you need to consult the doctor again. No need to go to different doctor. Most of the anxiety drugs will be stopped by the time your mood improves. Depending on the diagnosis, improvement, side effects, psychosocial factors, the duration of treatment may be 6 months or life long. D...more

Both pexep ie paroxetine and serta ie sertraline are both ssri and are usually not combined together. So consult your psychiatrist and get an ideal combination for your fear and anxiety related to covid. This has become very common these days and you will recover soon. Good luck.
