Sir, I recommend that you go for counseling along with the medication. Anxiety is abnormal fear because you are not handling normal scare for a long time, I think. Anxiety has all to do with fear and your inability (or so you would tend to think) to handle the same. Fear is based on looking too much into the future and imagining things that usually do not tend to happen (usually 90% of your fears will not happen) and expecting too much out of yourself. You need to change your perception of the f...more

Hi lybrate-user,
the issues you are facing are not relevant to neurology. It's in your best interest if you consult a psychiatrist in person and discuss regarding possibility of anxiety or depressive disorder. He/she will probably prescribe you some antidepressant medicine which the neurologist might not think of.
Regards.

You seem to be riding in two boats and wanting everything according to you. There may be some issues of ur personal life, which are bothering u. Meet some therapist or Life coach to open up about your insecurities/fear and resolve them. If u want help, first begin to help yourself.

If he doesn't do that, then its better you should try Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) this t...more

Its okay if you have stopped it and not experiencing any problem while stopping abruptly. Consuming lorazepam especially in long term is mostly done by people who have developed dependence or addiction akin to alcohol dependence. It is harmful but it's difficult to comment actually how much damage it has incurred, though some of the effects are recoverable but some may not. So its advisable to take any pill under the supervision of doctor, I wish you do not start them again by yourself!
