the issues you are facing are not relevant to neurology. It's in your best interest if you consult a psychiatrist in person and discuss regarding possibility of anxiety or depressive disorder. He/she will probably prescribe you some antidepressant medicine which the neurologist might not think of.

Its okay if you have stopped it and not experiencing any problem while stopping abruptly. Consuming lorazepam especially in long term is mostly done by people who have developed dependence or addiction akin to alcohol dependence.
