Dear lybrateuser,
- Diabetes is the increase in blood sugar of the person
- it could be type 1 wherein there is lack of insulin production by the pancreas & type 2 ( more commonly found) wherein insulin is produced but there is a problem with its utilization by the body cells, in both cases the blood sugar increases.

ALL fruits and vegetables contain glucose. Hence, you cannot find a fruit that will not increase your blood sugar. However, take fruits in moderation, if you are a diabetic. By the way, what eaxctly are your 2 hour PPBS and HbA1c levels?

Hello, Thanks for the query.
From the query I understand that you have PCOD and are on treatment. But what is the drug and dosage of it is not mentioned. Similarly there is no information on height, weight and TSH level.
As regards fasting blood glucose 91 mg/100 ml is absolutely fine. There is no reason to worry from that point of view. You can use either sugar or any substitute as you feel like. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
You will have develop good bowel habits, because taking repeated laxatives is not good at all. Increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, salads, and fruits. Also take fiber containing foods like fenugreek seeds (meth) and or flax seeds about 15 to 30 g a day. Before each meal. Drink enough water. Exercise regularly and do not postpone visiting the toilet when signals are noticed. Thanks.

For diabetes follow a diet low in carbohydrate, low in fat and high in fibre. Walking for 30 mins a day for at least 5 days in a week is recommended. Follow a stress free life. Your sugars are high. I need to know whether it is your fasting or pp blood sugar. Medication will change accordingly.
